Oh, and all this talk of turning down sex for gaming reminds me of a Viagra commercial I saw. This guy is watching a football game, and his (scantily clad) wife is coyly dragging her hand accross his shoulders as she makes her way towards the stairs. He turns to watch her slowly walking up the stairs grinning mischieviously at him, then back at the game, looking conflicted... and then looks down at a blank tape on the coffee table with the "I have an idea!" eyebrow jump. :D

I can quote most of the Monty Python movies and skits released in the US.

I have collectors editions (personally autographed) of all the Evil Dead movies.

I have read all 5 books of Douglas Adams stellar trilogy, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and even Salmon of Doubt for flavor. I also rather loved Starship Titanic and his Dirk Gently books.

I am female AND play Halo! XBox live scared me though, I got yelled at too much.

I do part time web design and graphics work and love my computer.

Robert Asprin makes me giggle, Piers Anthony (Incarnations and Apprentice Adept series) makes me wish I could write better.

I am a outed nerd among my friends for comics, movies, books and music.

How many people do you know that have all of both Meatloaf's albums and Alan Parsons Project? :catroar:

...I love you...
:)

I love that commercial! I wish he would've grown the little blue horns a la the older Viagra commercials.

Do you really? I've heard that line so many times before!
*dramatic wrist to the forhead gesture*

Heh...fine, you caught me...I'll amend it to "I'm intrigued by you."

Aww that makes it sound less special.

Well, I don't wanna lie or anything...

It would be my first quickie with someone on lit. (Haven't been here too long) That would be special...:)

Bah... why all the hostility towards sports? I think I can keep my nerd street cred if I can identify the infield fly rule AND the Star Trek even/odd rule.

Books? I'd recommend The Devil and the White City. Best one I've read lately. If not that, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Devil in the White City was very good.

My favorite part of the commercial was the doctor going "Before taking Viagra, make sure you are healthy enough to have sex."

Like, I wonder if they had problems with guys taking viagra then giving themselves heart attacks during the act.

Yeah, but somehow I think if I passed out dead while fucking a girl... she probably won't be in the mood to cook me breakfast, and she'll almost certainly not return my phone calls after that.

I mean, some girls get upset at the strangest things.

Other than the Web Design and the halo. I think I may be in love with you.

And those are my favorite Piers anthony series. I never Got Xanth. But Incarnations is like one of the coolest Ideas ever. (I'm so living to be time BTW.)

And I own almost every Meatloaf album. I used to listen to Bat out of Hell continuously in social studies. Even convinvced the teacher it was the baseball game once.

(in the case of Hoka Hoka Hoka, the baseball game, like everything else in the book, is utter crazy teddybear induced chaos.)

And Hoka. By Poul anderson is such a great book.

Picture an planet of Ferociously strong teddy bears. Who once they read something Must make it fact. By living it. Yes Even Robin Hood. Casey at the Bat. And the Jungle Book.

So Awesome.

One of my favorites was the Sherlock Holmes one. Especially when the main character realized that the Hoka Sherlock was going to use Sherlock's famous most cliche'd line, and just about rolled up into a ball in preperation for it. :D

Also, being the literary geek that I was, I chuckled at Horatio Hornblower apparantly being off fighting the French Navy, and thus unable to stop the Pirates from sailing to Kingston.

Also, in various parts, usually while introducing women that were potentially a threat to the main character's hopes for peaceful matrimonial bliss with his girlfriend/wife, it was hillarious how they would describe the women, ie the redheaded foreign service girl on Earth being the type to make every man in a room percieve an increase in room temperature of precisely 3 degrees centigrade. :D

Oh, and best line in a book ever? "DAMN THE TIDDILYWINKS! FULL SPEED AHEAD!"
