Huh?

My dear kitten, are you implying that I am an accountant of such things, on a dry spell, or have the metaphysical ability to transcend space and time to deliver sexual pleasure to young lasses?!?!

Because, you'd be wrong if you thought the first two were true.

*Sniff*

But, since it seems my nerd brothers and sisters seem to be... Lonely, of late, I shall sign this check, from the very generous Mr. Green, over to the rest of you nerds. Any further donations should be routed to the "Fuck a Hot Nerd" organization.

I shall donate, and I expect every other nerd here who isn't.... Experiencing a dry spell to donate also.

*huggums* I knew you'd understand Mr. Clerky! ^^

But I relieved my sexual cravings last night by watching Rob Zombie's Halloween and eating 2 out of 6 gourmet cookies.

Hey, is anybody here fairly fluent with Linux? I'm trying to install Ubuntu 7.0.4 on my Dell Inspiron 1420, and every time I try to go into Linux from the liveCD, I get a message about "Can not access TTY" and it drops me to a command prompt of some sort, rather than the Ubuntu desktop like it's supposed to.

are you upgrading to Ubuntu 7.0.4?
and are you trying to run it in Parallels?

Uhm... I dunno? I was planning to dual boot Vista and Ubuntu, but I can't even get as far as getting into the Ubuntu CD to install it. And I had read that with 7.0.4, it's supposed to be easy to set up dual-booting with Vista.

*sigh*

I need to stop being on good terms with my ex-girlfriends, if just so I won't have them on my Myspace friends list. One of them, a girl I really should have committed to when we were dating in high school, just posted pictures of herself from some party where she was dressed up as a schoolgirl.

*kicks self* :(

It's likely there's not enough space on the drive to install Ubuntu, as you will likely have to format the Vista partition and divide it into two partitions in order to get it working even remotely correctly.

And believe me, dual-booting with Vista is a pain in the ass, even with XP, since Vista has this boot manager that takes over from XP's boot.ini file... and you have to go into the recovery console and do a whole bunch of work in DOS in order to get them booting nicely together.

But you'll have to at least reformat to get enough space for the Ubuntu install if you want to install it; running from the Live CD, you'll have to boot to it, so you'll want to hit F12 at the Dell logo and boot to CD... or that's the most likely way to do it, as far as I know. I'm not familiar with Ubuntu, really, since those are the Vostro line and I deal with Latitudes and Optiplexes.

You're not the only one. I'm still friends with my ex from when I was 16... every time I see her she just gets better-looking, and I still really enjoy spending time with her.

Then there's the most recent girlfriend, whom I constantly get grief from for not talking to her, yet she's never online and never responds to me when I do try. And she's obsessed with WoW.

I really need to find myself a new girlfriend and let my hormones wash all that away for now. :p

hmm a hormone wash

Some nerd needs to invent that, for temporary purposes only of course

Haha, a bunch of happy hormones that make us feel in love with everyone and everything?

Hmm... wouldn't that be addictive?

Oh, and your results are in. You're a 6.5 on the squishter scale.

I prefer to think that I am currently fortunate and waiting to make someone else more fortunate

perhaps

That's a good way of looking at it.

Or, a suggestion of group sex.
Whichever.

See...now if I could only find a way to get myself into that kinda thing I'd be all set.

I was actually thinking of it the opposite way - a hormone wash that would wash the hormones away temporarily, providing you with clarity of thought and no distractions.

Is that a 6.5 out of 10? So I'm leaning towards the squisher side? I would agree with those findings in general, I was expecting to be more squishy actually.

Yes, the squishier side of the squishter scale.
