didn't they just snap a division winless streak that was something like 17 or 18 games?

yeah, that whole situation is fucked up. i think they're trying to move it to the university of MN, but they played their last game a few weeks ago so they already winterized the field thinking it wouldn't be used again until next season.

apparently they sold 63,000 tickets to the game, but the stadium hold only 50,000. and to top it all off there's no alcohol because it's a college stadium.

They defeated Green Bay not too long ago ending the division loss streak at 19.

yeah, i knew it was a pretty long streak, and that game they lost only because rodgers got KO'd with a concussion

If im going to sit in the freezing cold i want a beer....enough said

If you're a Pats fan and enjoy that good ol' fashioned New England hospitality, might I reccomend Fitzy's Wicked Pissah Webcast? http://townienews.com/
I miss boston now! lol thanks for that :D

i have to say, i admire that. way too many bandwagoners.

i remember in high school hating all the kids with the niner and cowboy jackets that liked them only because they were good at the time

Yeah, honestly I've always been a Pats fan. Being from Maine, I didn't choose to root for the Pats... I just grew up that way. We've had our fair share of hard times, thankfully not nearly as badly as the Lions though.

They didn't "winterize" the field, that's actually the main problem. The stadium was only built to handle temps in late November, so it doesn't have heated pipes under the field like Soldier/Lambeau (and they're also going to add heating things for the concession stands).

Also, whether or not the stadium could get a temporary liquor license for the game is still up in the air, last I heard.

I'll back up Jab on this one. At least Lions fan are the true fans. Every year we all come back and say this is the year we at least finish at 500. And as Okay puts it, bandwagon jumpers are not real fans at all.

The funny thing about sports is that fans take ownership of the wins like they had something to do about it. "My Falcons are fuckin' tearing it up this year!" Really? You own the Falcons? Or maybe you're running the 100+ yards per game and scoring a few touchdowns to put W in the win column? Well considering you are still wearing a Falcons jersey with Vick's printed across the back, something tells me you didn't even realize you were a winning team. Just an example.

oh the season is far from over. We'll see when the Pats lose in the first round of the playoff where you are standing! ;)

Considering they are going to clinch the division this weekend, it's going to be kind of hard for them to lose the first round of playoffs. I'm pretty sure a Bye doesn't count as a loss.

Gosh.....................................................tell us what you really think..............:p

The Lions' fans always know that.......at the beginning of the season, we have high hopes.......but we know that getting there will never happen. We also know that any time we get a little glimpse of hope it gets dashed.

Pssh, not even Lions fans say that. At least not until WC kicks it and somebody that gives a crap can take over.

Real fans have 'Mexico' on the back :D.

we're kinda like Cubs fans only we never came close to going to a world series........ so maybe a little worse off than cubs fans.

At least we have a curse theory. Unfortunately, there is no goat involved.
