I don't do fantasy sports myself, but this is the basic breakdown: you go online with a bunch of other people, and make a team of the best players you can from any team in the professional league sport. Then every week your team is matched against another, and based on the real-world performance of your players, they either win or lose against the other team. You don't even have to watch any games, you just have to love numbers, basically.

that's just what i was about to say![]()

It's my tech support experience coming out
Breaking it down into the simplest explanation so that anyone can really understand it.
I understand it...I still find the prospect boring
I don't blame you, honestly. I don't find it entertaining myself, but I have to hear about it pretty consistently from one of my roommates.
Aww, I'm sure that would have been lots of fun for her.
Yea, and would have worn her out, lol.
you don't do fantasy hockey?![]()

She's being rambunctious today?
She's a 5 month old puppy, rambunctious is the only mode she has right now, lol.
Nah, sports has never really been my thing. I played them, and I watch the occasional hockey game, but that's it.
then you find something on LIT that is more fun........

Boobs are Terrific!
Sometimes it is hard to keep up with fantasy sports. Football is easiest because you only update once a week for 16 weeks. It is nice for us from the MTV generation who have attention spans of about 4.5 minutes. However, it is only really exciting when you play for money. I once won $3,000 for having a team with a good running back and quarterback, then I just sat back all season.
Hockey is different, because you have to keep up almost on a daily basis. I know that you can set up your team weeks ahead of time, but if there are injuries or suspensions you have to log in and make sure your changes are made before the game starts. Then you lose interest in it........ then you find something on LIT that is more fun........ then it is like, "my fantasy who?"
wow, that's a pretty nice haul for winning a fantasy league. i find that football is definitely the easiest in terms of the "set it and forget it" rule unless you have a guy that get injured or suspended, as you said. baseball definitely takes the most time because there's a game on a daily basis and it's much more match up oriented
Yes, I agree with baseball. However once I joined a league and kept up with it for about a month then stopped keeping it up. At the end of the season, I lost the final game of the playoffs and came in second place. So "set it and forget it" applies to all sports, you just need a couple of strong draft picks and a whole lot of luck.
I am in the LIT football league, and I am coming in a very mediocre 6-5 (soon to be 6-6). Set it and forget it does not apply here. :|
i've seen that thread pop up every once in a while. maybe next year i'll see if i can get in on that. is that the only league you're in?
baseball i actually prefer to play on a rotisserie scoring basis because the rate stats for pitchers can fluctuate too much with one shitty game.
For the moment, I am only in the LIT football league. I didn't sign up in time for Basketball or Hockey this year. I may do a Baseball league if I feel inspired in the spring.
And as long as I don't get distracted by boobs!![]()
boobs are always the ultimate distraction.
