10 Reasons why I was, and will always BE a nerd:

1) I was an avid Dungeons & Dragons player (and DM) starting in my teen years, and well into my adulthood.

2) I am an avid sci-fi/fantasy buff when it comes to television shows and movies. Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Sliders, Quantum Leap, Hercules, Xena: Warrior Princess, Legend of the Seeker, etc...if you name it, I more than likely have watched it.)

3) I am a voracious reader in sci-fi/fantasy as well...as well as horror. I used to idolize Stephen King.

3) I have a decent sized comic book collection, cardboard backings and plastic wrapped in my basement. Also, whenever I see a movie out based on a comic book character, I HAVE to watch it, and compare it to the comic.

4) I was a straight A student in high school...and was never a big fan of playing sports.

5) I speak in complete sentences, rather that using text speak...even when texting!

6) I was always concerned more drawing and writing short stories, than going out partying and getting drunk.

7) I spent the whole of my teen years masturbating while fantasizing about having sex with cheerleaders, instead of actually going out, asking one out, and trying to make the fantasy into reality.

8) Related to the number above, I was a virgin until age 24, because I was too shy (and feared the possibility of rejection) to ask a lady out.

9) I lived at home with my mom well into adulthood (although I WAS taking care of her because she was ill) and had absolutely NO social life or friends to speak of.

10) I enjoy obscure facts, am a font of useless knowledge, and I kick ass at trivial pursuit.

So, do i qualify as a nerd?

True. On top of that geography has an important impact as well, as I have a hard time with both American and British TP since while I know of Danish politics and such, how am I to know who was the Minister of Defence in the UK in the 1972?

Truth be told, last time I lost in TP was to two children. It was a version with only Disney questions. I'm still ashamed of it.

Oh well, just console yourself in the fact that kids are SUPPOSEDLY smarter than we were at that age.

(Although, some of the things my kids do often make me wonder how accurate that is...but then again, that may not come from a lack of intelligence, as much as a lack of good judgement. )

Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that it seems when a guy is on his knees offering to kiss a woman's foot to make it feel better they tend to keep you down there a while. Then once you do start to get up off the floor they usually attack you.
