It's not really a nerd thing, but I usually only see about one movie per year in theatres.

Most of the movie was good, and apparently lots of people like it, but nobody else was bothered by the ending? If you think about it, Bond didn't really accomplish anything.

SPOILER: I mean, it seems like the whole point of the movie is to save M. Then when the bad guy is about to kill himself and M, Bond shows up in the nick of time...to kill the bad guy and have M still die 30 seconds later? Moral victory aside, it doesn't really matter if Bonds succeeds or fails. There's not even a secondary victory in something like recovering the list. If Silva's plan all along was to go out with M, Bond could have stayed on vacation and things would have ended up pretty much the same way.
