Neil Armstrong dies. Respect. Did usOFa ever get to the moon?

If you've never read it, do yourself a favor and read it before you die:

The Right Stuff
by Tom Wolfe
New York, N.Y. 1979

Shut up and die like an aviator.

TRS is one of my favorite movies; for some reason, I've never read the book.I'll have to read it someday.

RIP To brave man.

The Tin Foil Hat party will always say that the moon landings were staged, because man cannot survive in space.

He and the other astronauts do deserve much respect.

There's a story about some loony accosting Aldrin in a mall and telling him man never landed on the moon. Then said loony tried to press a bible on Buzz. Buzz lamped him. I've been a Buzz Aldrin fan ever since.

Neil Armstrong was a great man, and an exemplary American. The moon landing was a ray of light in an otherwise dark point in our history, and Mr. Armstrong deserves the most profound respect for bravely embracing the journey that could have ended poorly. The world thanks you.

There is just something special about being "first." It is the way of human history.

i always liked cosmonaut better.

but, yeah, it's sad he's dead and stuff.

still, astronaut is a shitty word.

And God spake, saying, "You got footprints all over my Moon? Go to Hell!"

The book is far, far better.

Rest in eternal peace, Commander Armstrong. In a world that suffers from a lack of "class acts," yours will be sorely missed.
