A cop was murdered here in town last night. They have the killer but wont release his name or race. That part of town is all black. Concealing name and race is the same as full disclosure.

My fear is that this is going to spiral down, getting worse along the way.
Execution murders of police officers is not going to make them slower on the trigger. Quite the opposite.
Which will probably lead to more questionable deaths of people shot by the police, leading to more "revenge" killings, leading to even more hyper-sensitized self-defense posture by the police...
This is just the WRONG approach to solving the problems.
Communication and understanding will succeed, this will not.
If *I* lived in a minority neighborhood, I would try to organize a picnic, bar-b-q, pancake breakfast, whatever, and invite both on and off-duty cops to attend, meet with the people of the neighborhood, talk on various subjects. Just getting to know each other would take some of the edge off.
