love, patience, attention to baby's wants, nurturing, a lot of baby talk to baby

One of those little bouncy seat things. I couldn't have survived without one when mine were little. I have to stress; you will end up with alot of unused stuff. I had alot I never even took out of the package. I chucked that baby monitor out the window, too. Your list seems ok for right now.

It's been a little while since I was a new mommy. First is Love of course....but most important. Is some alone time for you! Even if it's only for one hour, and even if you only sleep or take a quite bath. Good luck

I have a bouncy seat,, damn thing vibrates and plays mozart

and at this time little Jacob hates it:)

It's probably too much stimulation for him now. When he's 4 months or so, he'll probably start to enjoy it.

You need books. Lots and lots of books to read to him. It's never to early to read to him.

A battery operated swing.
Get the bottles that have the plastic sleeves inside that your pour the milk into, not the other kind. You can reach into the sleeve holder and squeeze the air out of the plastic sleeve. Makes baby bellies feel better.
Coupons from grandma for a few hours of babysitting. Even though you'll probably just drive around the block a few times and worry.
A grip. It'll be okay, you aren't going to hurt him.

for right now Jacob likes doctor seus... all but the cat in the hat.. he crys when I read that to him but his favorit is horton hears a who ....

I just love holding him and kissing him and just talking to him about what he is seeing or hearing or showing him to the puppies

Pacifiers

You can never have too many pacifiers . . . and for hubby? Dip one whiskey and give him one when he is at the end of his ropes. Good Luck!

Bibs.
This may sound stupid, but I had a bib constantly on my kids until they were over a year old. It saved on the clothes and when they drooled it was much easier to change the bib than the whole outfit.
