Need Help from the Computer Gods :)

got an amd k6 3d processor or an intel pent.with mmx tech to put in tower for the kids, can I get a heads up on which is better? I know we have some smarties here

The K6s weren't all that great, really.. Though I've never heard of K6 3d.. *shrug* It might be better than the K6 and the K6 2.. but I'm doubting it..

You have the processors, or processor and mother board?

I'd go with the Intel.
K6 is old, rushed into production.

well we have a tower in working order , came with one of the processors, then we were working on another tower for a friend, and wasn't anygood , but processor ok ,, wondered if it would be an upgrade really

Well, as far as I know, you can't interchange Pentium and AMD chips.. but I might be wrong there..

seems to be able to interchange far as i know, both slot 7s

K6/2 is an excellant processor. I probably have some MB around to use that processor, have K6/3 as well. the only problem is that they are S L O W !
Compared to newer computers. I still run K6/2's but broke down to buy new system. I you still want to build/repair Pm me and I probably have what you need.

edited to add: some Socket 7's will cross work, some super 7's will 'work' but are better suited to one or the other.
