need help editing for content (erotic horror)

I've just had a story rejected, for "excessive degradation, violence, snuff, or abuse of characters." I can't see how my story is any different from other stories I've seen on Lit, so I'm going to need some help in revising it. I'm willing to make any changes necessary as long as they don't completely throw off the plotline.

It's possible that I submitted it in the wrong category. I put it down as non-con, when maybe erotic horror might have been better. Only it's not horror in the vampires and monsters kind of way, just in the surreal Twilight Zone kind of way.

If anybody's interested, please PM me. It's really not a violent story; I honestly can't figure out what the problem is. The only violence is implied or threatened, and nobody gets killed or injured. It's just people talking and having sex.

I'll give it a once over for you. It would have to get pretty bad to bother me, and I think I have a pretty good handle on where Lit's bar is.

That is no surprise. The first pass is clearly automated, and we all know that computers are perfect, don't we? If the robots pass something to a human to check, then it all depends on how that checker feels that day.

Unlikely to cause rejection - they usually just change the category if they feel like it.
