Need a pic resized for your Av? Post it here...

Well give me your honest opinion, is this Av too much or should I go back to my old one

I don't know about "too much," but I liked the old avatar better. This one is neat, but the other was more erotic.

Thanx Harold,
One prob with that sly and that is I'm still in Aus, I fly out 8th March. Not long to go now.

Mystic, in mho the "old" avatar is much better. The "new" one is very interesting, but doesn't have near the "attraction" I get with your original.

Sly

Thanx for your honesty. As you can see I have stuck with my original. I started to feel uncomfortable with the new one, and once that started happening I knew it was wrong.

Thanx guys

You really ned to learn how to do this, Tiggs. It's real easy with decent software -- I've mentioned Paint Shop Pro and IrFanview several times on several threads. Both can resize pics like this in under 30seconds.

Here it is. The dimensions were OK, but the compression factor was too low to meet the file size requiements.

Other than copying the picture from the camera to the hard drive, you don't need to use the software that came with the camera to edit JPG format pictures -- you can use whatever you are most familiar/comfortable with.

If you like th software that came with the camera, chck the hlp menu for "JPG compression" or "JPG quality" -- that should lead you to where the software sets the compression factor for saving in JPG format. You need it set to no better than "Medium Quality" to meet the size requirements for avatars.

Thanks so much Harold. I didn't realise that I could use my old program for the Digi pics.....I'll get experimenting straight away now!

Depending on the interface your camera uses, you might be able to import pictures directly from the camera.

I've had two digital cameras. One used a "TWAIN" interface which made it appear to all of my imaging programs as a scanner.

The current RCA camera appears as a special folder in My Computer, but it isn't visible to any program. I have to copy the camera contents to a regular folder where the pictures are just pictures that could have come from anywhere.

Any camera that saves pictures in a standard format like JPG, BMP, or TIFF, produces pictures that can be edited by any software that can read the format it uses.

I very much like the Ioz pics that Tiggs found for me, but I am also look some good vampyre av's as well. Any ideas where to look? I tried the site listed here, but couldn't find any.

Okay found one I like, if someone could resize it for me I would be really grateful.

help please!

If someone would resize this so I can use it for my avatar, I would be eternally gratefully. I need to buy some sort of graphic software so I can learn to do this myself.
Thanks in advance!!

:p and  's

If You have Windows 98 or later, you probbly have MS Photo Editor which can do a decent job of resizing.

This picture needed cropping to get rid of the white border more than it needed resizing though.

Check out iRfanview -- available from several download sites. It's free.
