Naming the new Forum

Hopefully I'm doing this right as I've never done a poll before. hehe..

Our new place, needs a new name. I saw a few I liked so I decided to start the thread. Please add any ideas that you might have.

I'm sorry, there isn't the option of none, or other, simply because the forum is here, its going to stay it seems,... so I'm asking to name it, not argue about it.

If anything it would've been interesting to see how many votes it got.

There is a big part of the BDSM'ers who still do not like it, so why give it a name.

My feelings are that there's enough threads that have been overwhelmed by people who don't want it. It's obviously, you don't want it. Ok,.. it's your opinion, and that's perfectly fine.
I just didn't feel that I wanted it part of this thread.

If I have in any way offended you, I apologize, just though that to make the poll more reflective of the current situation it would have been a good option to put in.

In this thread, as well as my other posts, I have to say that no offense is intended on my part either. My goal isn't to try and fight with people.
I think that in a situation like this, with two people, and many many more that have different opinions, that can be misunderstood when talking strongly about one's opinion.
There's a couple threads that I wanted that to be understood in, but this is the one I decided to post it in.
I do respect your opinion, and I can see why you would feel you wanted that option.
But...to still explain my feelings. I wanted this thread to be strictly for positive enforcement towards the new Forum. There are several threads that are based towards negativity towards it, and my feelings were to have this one strictly be for naming the Forum, as a positive action.

it is about
1) people being bullies
2) those that publically endorce abusiers by calling it free speech
3) the dishonesty of some who were trusted

All i can say is this forum or BB is not a democracy. It is a privately owned and financed business where we can come together and share alike thoughts or choose to disagree.

If you feel wronged personally, then you will have to deal with that how you choose.

This was another one of my favorites. I personally voted for the Mischief and Mayham,.. Mischief is just so me.. But "The lighter side" was my second choice.
My name is Fluffy and I like BDSM just makes me smile and crack up everytime I read it though.

Lots of people are dissecting every aspect of this deal, but I have not seen anyone talk about the "forum description" (under the name of the forum).

Right now, we've got BDSM Talk (Discussions of the BDSM lifestyle) and BDSM Free-For-All (Anything goes).

Since I am just a random lurker who has contributed next to nothing to this thriving community, let me offer my unfounded opinions!

Main forum: BDSM Discussion (Exploring the BDSM lifestyle)

Side forum: [Fill in the blank] (Social discussion amongst the BDSM community)


See? Changing the main forum a little will clarify it needs to be on topic. And that "exploring" thing might draw in a few lurkers or nervous types.

And the "social discussion amongst the BDSM community" makes it comfortable for the people who have paid their dues. People do become attached to message boards and it gives the sense of community for the regular contributors. "Anything goes" makes it sound like the side forum is even more hardcore/inaccessible than the main forum.

So far, it looks like BDSM Cafe, by a thread....err nose....errr vote.

We can give it another day and tomorrow night, can let Laurel know what the result is.

I do however, think that Mr Blonde is onto something here. Changing the description from "Anything Goes" seems to be a good move too for all ther reasons he listed.

And I've got to say, I really like The Leather Lounge also ... of course.. I looooooooooooooove leather.

So the description, also, shouldn't be negative, either and unfortunately, terms like "fluff? tend to have a negative connotation.

So, I was thinking something comparable to "Open Discussion BDSM Style."

That occurred to me as I often post at the GB and there have been times when I have been admonished on the boards and in pm's for making jokes about BDSM things. A comment concerning nipple clips comes to mind.

Any other ideas?

Hi!

I voted for BDSM: Mischief and Mayhem, because it's humorous, as is much of what goes on here. The reason I didn't choose BDSM Cafe is because there already seem to be a few places on the net with that title.

I like the new board idea - I can choose which area I want to visit and when.
