re: tv shows that make you cry

I made a joking reference that full house makes me cry. the truth is, ever since my dad died amost any show or movie can make me cry at some point, if the scene involves characters that love each other having to say goodbye for some reason or if it's the death of a character that is loved in the show or is a favorite of mine, here come the waterworks.

the examples that immediately come to mind are the deaths of bobby simone on nypd blue and lucy knight on ER. I knew bobby was going to die from reading about it in the tv guide, yet I couldn't help crying when the time came. lucy's death was more of a surprise because she'd come through surgery ok and was apparently going to make it. the power of rocket romano's reaction whe he realized she wasn't going to make it only added to the pain of the scene.

the most schocking tv death I have ever seen is the loss of col. henry blake on M.A.S.H. there wasn't the media saturation that there is now, and I don't now if anyone epected it to happen. quite possibly the most powerful moment ever on series tv.

morning Moonie...I know what you mean..after my dad passed away a couple years ago, there have been many tears shed because, like you...things reminded me of him...and still do.

Ya know what though? It's okay to cry...in a way it's a healing thing...because have you ever been so numb that you couldn't cry? Sort of like you are beyond sad in a way that you just *want* to cry?
