my thread

Good to see you back Moon, I hope you rest today and I agree the doctor is sending mixed messages. You need a real sit down with him soon.

Well, moon, it's good that you are back.

I suspect you'd be very bored on disability. OTOH, if you can get a nurse to come in once or twice a month to give you a sponge bath, and get that charged to your insurance, well ...

I think you're shouting the truth there, nor. I'd be bored out of my skull. however.. I was talking to a friend last night, kind of having an internal debate out while she listened in, and she said maybe I should look at it as an opportunity.... try to get some training in a less physical line of work. makes sense to me, if it can work out that way... I admit to being clueless to this whole process. I'm not even sure at the moment who I'd need to talk to to get the ball rolling.

I would suspect your company has a person or department for Personnel / Human Resources who could help with that.

Good to see you back sweetie – glad to hear you had a fairly good report and an opportunity to get your weiner handled.:D

Now, a little business…..
1. Get your MD by the nads and get him to explain what the hell he’s talking about.

2. Should you go forward with the disability thing – a couple links

http://www.disabilitysecrets.com/disability-resources-ohio.html
http://www.workworld.org/wwwebhelp/ssi_state_supplement_ohio.htm

I filed three times for disability and was told I was too well educated to be disabled. Now, you want something to say WHAT THE FUCK over – that’s it. Had I known that I would have filled out the paperwork in crayon and tried to bite my nose while I was being interviewed.

Once you file, you will, most likely, be denied – everyone generally is the first time. When you re-file get a lawyer to help you. I know you can no more afford a lawyer than I can but they only collect if/when you win your case and at that point your payment to them can be negotiated in installments so your wallet doesn’t get raped.

The process may take a while but your compensation will be retroactive from the time your MD decides that you were initially disabled.

And REMEMBER – collecting SSI isn’t a charity thing. Don’t feel bad about collecting it because there are a helluva lot of people out there that don’t deserve it that are sitting on their asses just raking it in. Case in point – I have an ex-sister-in-law who got her MD to say she was disabled because she is obese. HUH?????? I dunno how she did it but it worked. So, don’t sweat it if you have to go on disability. And, you are correct – vocational training to get you into another line of work – work from home, typing, stuff like that there. There are many things you can look into.

In any case, I’m glad you’re back with us.:D:kiss:

thanks for all the info, SL69. I'll check the links out.... but...uh... remind me not to tell you that I used to be on disability for morbid obesity.

no worries. I was teasing you. at the time, it shocked the hell out of me. my brother had heart troubles and had to fight for a long time to get his disability.... my doctor wrote one letter and a couple of months later I got an approval letter. go figure.

Well, if the commute wouldn't kill me I'd sign up to be a patient of your doc or at least file for SSI in Ohio.

you wouldn't necessarily have to commute... just come for like, a week, see the doc, file the papers and then send a change of address. lol.

That sounds like a very pleasing proposition - but if I came for like, a week, I'd need a doctor and a transfusion. (of course you might too) ;)

not bad... if I stand on my third leg I'll be able to catch it with no problem. ;)

You seem to be in a good moot despite everything.

And yeah, your "well duh" response to my post was appropriate. SL69 was WAY more helpful. Experience always wins out (yes, take it however you want).

I'm trying to be in a good mood. I think you misunderstood my response, tho. it wasn't a "well, duh." I really wouldn't have thought of asking someone in HR. if I did it might have taken me a week to come around to it. I appreciate it

I have to see the dr. again tuesday. well, technically I'm just going in for a defibrillator check, but I'm going to see if I can get at least a few minutes with the doc and get some things clarified and get the ball rolling.

so much for feeling good. I may just PM everyone and tell them that they don't have to keep pretending they give a damn anymore. itll save us all a lot of trouble in the long run.

I DO care about you.;) :D
Can we still have snacks and sodas?

Oh go ahead - fill my PM box up with stuff like that - you know better Mister Moon *using best stern voice while crossing arms and stamping foot in a harsh manner*.

I DO care about you and the only time I pretend is when I'm abusing myself with my vibe.
AND - I dare say that everyone else that posts in this thread cares about you also. I am as sincere as my pumpkin patch so just grab a chuck of ground and sit your ass down here next to me and wait for the Great Pumpkin - and if you're really really good or just at least marginally good I'll probably give you a tumble while we wait.

Now if you are gonna have a pity party at least be a good host and provide snacks and drinks. ;) :D
I edited my post. now you have to do the same thing.
