thanks... I plan to, altho I'm partially scared to death, too, because I've never flown before. well, not in a plane, anyway.Millificent said:Have fun!
lol! I used to love that commercial!!!!mrtnmoon said:darn... I missed la mantequilla.
I'm guessing on the spelling.... it's from one of those old parkay commercials, where the tub of parkay keeps saying butter. one time it spoke spanish, for some reason. gosh, what a dork I am, some of the dumbass things I remember.
anyway, thanks.... I probably won't do anything, but it'll be nice to not have to get up and bust my ass all day.
What part are you going to? How long will you be gone? Will it be a long flight for you?mrtnmoon said:thanks... I plan to, altho I'm partially scared to death, too, because I've never flown before. well, not in a plane, anyway.![]()
It's always been October 31 here. From 5-8. Plenty of time to go before or after services if that's your thing to do. When I was younger we walked the neighborhood. We go to the mall now...lol. But it's nice. We go walk and get treats and then we go have dinner in the food court. It's fun.mrtnmoon said:SL69> you made the comment that it's nice some things from childhood are still around, so I wanted to ask what night do the kids go trick or treating where you are?
there was an article in the paper today about how it can be tricky to pick the right date... I guess because the 31st is on a wednesday night this year and some churches have services on wednesdays. so, some of the areas nearby are having beggar's night tonight. one guy commented that when he was a kid (in a semi-nearby city), beggar's night was always on the 31st and we shouldn't be "bowing down" to the churches by changing it.
when I was a kid, it seems like it was always on oct. 30th here, and it made me wonder what the tradition was elsewhere....
edited to add: anyone else that wants to can answer, too... I just directed the ? at SL69 because I thought she was online and would answer fairly quickly. I'm always curious about the traditions in other areas.
you still go trick or treating? damn, no wonder you don't remember ironside... you are just a baby.Millificent said:It's always been October 31 here. From 5-8. ya know... this may sound strange but I dunno exactly what part I'm going to. I'm flying into long beach airport and then someone is picking me up. the flight out is about 12 hours, but part of that is a 3 hour stop in cincy.... I think the flight back is only 7 hours. I'll be gone for 4 days.Millificent said:What part are you going to? How long will you be gone? Will it be a long flight for you?

sorry about the delay - my "warden" is around today - so my time is not my own. We've been having continuous rounds of "fight for a while - go to our seperate corners for a while".mrtnmoon said:SL69> you made the comment that it's nice some things from childhood are still around, so I wanted to ask what night do the kids go trick or treating where you are?
