ok, I'm back! and i did some research so I don't sound like the ignorant fool that i am!

i did some dada listening of old and new.

what do you think of the new album??

the more important question (to me) is, what do you think of it? and just to be clear, which album are you referring to as the new one?

i'm talking bout um..i think it's called, How To Be Found?? I only managed to find a few tracks from it. But i heard they're not necessarily NEW..as in recently written tracks, just unreleased ones...so the stylte shouldn't be much different as the released albums...is that true?

ok.... I just wanted to be sure which album you were talking about because the band just released an ep called a friend of pat robertson.

from what I gather, you're right on the money about how to be found. previously unreleased tracks.... some of the songs had been available on various bootlegs.... I think the one I most recognized by name (but had never heard) was blue girl. as for love is a weird thing..... great song. I'm glad you like it. there's another really killer song on the disc called wish you were here now, and guitar girl is one of my faves, too.

I'm not really sure what to say about the band's "style", because I'm not really good at describing things like that. some things haven't changed... they still have the best harmonies this side of the beatles, I think. I guess over their first four releases the sound got a little "poppier"... shorter songs, not quite as heavy, not as many exteneded guitar solos. with how to be found and a friend of pat robertson it kind of seems to be going back in the other direction, especially on AFoPR. there also seems to be more than a touch of a psychedelic thing happening on that disc. it's good stuff. they're all good stuff.

and they're even better live.

my lit legacy

I really dunno how well-known or liked I am here. it might even be not at all, at times. but, I realized something a little while ago...

I can take some small measure of satisfaction that, no matter whether I'm here or not, no matter whether I'm posting in the thread or not, this thread (music match game) seems to go on. over 1,000 pages. nearly 26,000 posts. sure, there are threads with more pages and posts, but I never expected one that I started to last that long.

bored, lonely 42 y/o sw ohio male looking for a female to chat with. I'm not talking cyber, tho I have done that in the past and there's nothing wrong with it if you're into it. just looking for someone to pass some time with.

I'm a pretty nice guy, reluctantly single. I'm into music.... mostly classic rock but I like a little bit of everything except rap and opera. I like to play games like trivial pursuit and I spend a lot of time playing a scrabble-ish game called literati on yahoo games.

I used to read a lot in my pre-internet days. I don't do it so much anymore but just finished re-reading The Green Mile and The Stand by Stephen King. (I'm pretty sure it was about the bazilionth time I've read The Stand.) I like movies and I watch quite a bit of tv..... I can spell, my grammar is fairly decent (altho the way I type it doesn't always come across) and I can carry on a conversation about any number of things as long as it's nothing that requires too much thought .

I'm mellowing out and listening to some tunes and I'm a little fucked up right now. I'm hammsterusa on AIM. dunno how long I'll feel like sitting here, but thought I'd give it a shot for awhile.....

I may take you up on that sometime. I played literati for the first time in months the other day... my comp was slow, but it didn't freeze up. now, whether I can get to lit and send a PM while I'm in yahoo games might be another story.
