here's something I've been pondering...

there are all kinds of threads in the personals forum, guys asking if anyone is up for some phone sex. what I'm curious about is if any ladies would be up for some phone trivia.

I love to play trivial pursuit... sometimes I think I'm a trivia wiz, and sometimes I suck. we used to get together on a semi-regular basis and have family game nights. trivial pursuit was a major staple of those nights, and another cool game called planet hollywood. we haven't done it in forever, tho.... my bro and his wife have a couple of kids now and they just don't seem to have the time. they got me one of the latest editions of the game for christmas the year before last, and it hasn't even been opened yet.

I've seen evidence of some pretty smart ladies here.... I wonder if any of them are into trivia games and would be up for a game over the phone. not exactly sure how that would work, I haven't figured it all out yet. sure, I know... if I'm just interested in playing trivia, why does it have to be a lady?
I just ain't into talking to dudes.... simple as that.

I thought about making this post the first one in a new thread in the personals forum, but.... I guess I'm looking for a little feedback, first, from some of the people that are regular or semi-regular visitors to my little home here on lit. do you think there'd be any interest, or would I just be wasting my time?

Wouldn't it be easier to play online? The phone bills could get really high.

I have phone service with the cable company. as long as it's someone in the u.s., long distance is free. I'd be willing to try it online, too, if that's the only alternative, but my typing sucks so it might take awhile to type questions/answers.

I'm not sure what would happen. It would depend on how many played and there is always the one who is so smart you can't beat them. lol

well.... obviously a phone call would be one on one. if someone wanted to play in PM or IM it'd be a little more difficult because of the typing, but I'd be up for it if someone was interested. that would also be one on one.

I'm not too keen on trying to play in a thread for 2 reasons:
1) sometimes there's no interest and a thread can go for days without a question being answered, and

2) there might be more interest than I think, and it can get confusing when more than one person is posting something at a time. I know that from experience with the "music match game" and "movie quote" threads.

I guess it's just a pipe dream.... maybe I should try to check into whether or not I can find any local game clubs or something and play with real live people. I don't think there's anything like that in this shithole, tho... I'd have to drive at least 45 minutes to dayton or cincinnati.

It's why I'm not hot on the game threads. Either you have 3 people with the right answer and all post at the same time or it becomes a huge flirt thread.
