Okay, read up on the correct formatting for dialogue.

For example, he said, "Make sure you use leading capitals, and conclude the sentence with punctuation within the speech marks, like this."

"And start a new a paragraph when someone else speaks," his friend added, "and remember, a run-on sentence uses lower case to begin."

They're the main offenders. Basic grammar, basic punctuation; get these things right early on, and they'll work for you, not against you. Happy editing!

Agreed. My first story was kicked back for a laundry list of issues, and dialog formatting was one. There are many online guides for such things and it took no time at all to find the help I needed.
