I don't want to get into a large discussion about this, because I know that it will do no good to disagree with anyone on this topic.... and that for whatever reason he/she has made some friends here... but I find it quite amazing that individuals here continue to hold conversations with yaya and/or his alter egos.

I, only being one person with one opinion, am tired of him/her/them. I get the feeling that there are many others who feel the same way.

My pledge is this: I will never respond to a yaya-thread again. And, in fact, if I even suspect that it's another alter-ego of "him", then I will refrain from comment as well.

Let the yaya threads fall to the bottom of the pile, I say. Make him work harder for the attention he so richly desires.

Who's with me?

It doesn't matter. There's always one person will say, "Who cares? I'm not afraid. I'll respond! You're not the boss of me." or something stupid like that, and Newbies who think he's serious and think all he needs is someone to say "Shut up dickhead!" pop up every day, and it only takes one hitter to fuck-up a shut-out.

Still, it's always a good idea to say "Ignore the inanity".

I do whatever I like to do until the Lit owners warn me not to.

I agree with you 100%. But...let that be the new battlecry:

"Ignore the inanity!"

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that he's an attention hound. <shrug> Make him work for it, I say.

See above Chilled Vodka post.

so, I prolly shouldn't have told him to piss off in that other thread, huh?

My bad.

lol...it's ok. Even I have fallen into the trap of getting wound up in some ignorant, backhanded comment that was made by him at some point.

I'm starting anew.

I thought I was already doing ignoring the inanity. I like the idea.

After the election...

...pledges seem to go right out the window.

How can the voting public trust this pledge?

Good point.

Well, take comfort in the fact that I don't reside in the great state of Florida. <g>

See what I mean about Newbies always wanting "proof"? What are you gonna do, PM them all? It's a full time job, and only worth it if it's someone like Kid Rock who honestly has tried to hurt people. Yayati's not dangerous - he's just a failed "character".

Or kill 2 birds with one stone and make an "Intro to and Blurt About yayati" thread for those who are *dying* to comment, but don't wanna bump his threads.

Since there's no way he'd be able to refrain from posting in it himself, it would be full of examples of his particular brand of inanity.

thank you

now it all becomes clear... :)

my first yiddish word?

or mearly a figment of my imagination?

seriously guys... i know i'm a baby, in lit terms, so could one of you spell this out (maybe with pictures?)

Just do a search, sugar. It will be a lot easier than having anyone try to explain yoyotwat. :)

The basic storyline, Hairgrip, is that he's a poster who annoys pretty much everyone with tales of Indian (as in the country, not as in Native American) supremacy and spews vitriole against all and sundry. Think Ghandi as Grand Dragon of the KKK. Only not as cute and fuzzy and add a bunch of Indian slang to the mix.

Periodically he spams the boards with tales of love gone wrong between an American and an Indian couple and begs for help. There's always one or two people who take him at face value.

There's many schools of yayati theory. Some think he's an alternative-screen nick of a regular poster out to have fun by being annoying. Some believe he is who he says he is. Most don't really care all that much one way or the other.

Personally, I think he's just a boring and bored little kid with too much time on his hands. I don't find him that difficult to ignore.

Come now. If it wasn't for yayati, what would we possibly do with our otherwise dull and uneventful lives?

'sok

i think i stumbled on one by mistake... er the Roma thing?
in which case... the personage is just plain bizzaro.

sorry to ask for proof, but i never was a lemming. building all those brigdes and destroying them kinda put me off. :)
(and hey, if it were you who was new wouldn't you like to be provided with justifications? maybe it's a british thing? x)

in my best valleys (the welsh ones...) piss take...
