My new morning routine

Each morning now I log onto Literotica and check the status on my Pending stories to see that nothing has changed (5 pending - each has been resubmitted after well over 3 weeks and are coming up on 2 weeks again).

Then I go to my Works Activity to see if there are new comments to see that there are none.

What was once my favorite part of my day is now the worst part of my day, and I have lost all interest in writing new stories.

Sorry to hear that. This was supposed to be fun and liberating for us, not emotional and mental torture. There are a couple of threads that touch on this, mine being the most direct and most recent.

Have you tried PMing Laurel? You are highly unlikely to get a response, but it might be worth trying. Other than that, I've zero wisdom to share. My story as well has been pending for far longer than it's supposed to.

I just don't feel comfortable PMing her. I figure she's working on getting everyone taken care of and I'm no more important than anyone else. I guess I just let this stuff affect me more than I should.

You should try every avenue, that's all I'm saying.
I can only applaud your modesty here, but as you can see, even if you don't think you're more important than anyone else, there are those who think they ARE more important than others.

What's killing me is that one of the 5 stories pending .. I feel it's the best thing I've ever written. And nobody is seeing it.

I've definitely noticed fewer comments lately. Strange that you have so many stories pending that still aren't approved. Other than messaging Laurel, I'm not sure what else you can do.

What's killing me is that one of the 5 stories pending .. I feel it's the best thing I've ever written. And nobody is seeing it.

I get it. I've been working on my story since the beginning of August, and it's the first actual writing I've done in a long time, so it was like a new start for me. I wrote it specifically for Literotica, as its theme isn't suited for the other websites I also used for my stories.
But it's all largely spoiled for me. As I've said to you already, this is supposed to be fun and energizing, not emotional torture.

I have PM'ed her twice. The first time was several months ago, asking a clarifying question about a WIP that's in the political arena, but just for the flavor of it, not to espouse any particular view.

The second time was on Monday, about a pending edit I have that's over a month old.

I have received no responses from her.

Yeah, getting a response is an extremely rare occurrence these days.

I take it back! I wrote a new story today .. or at least part 1 of a much longer story. And it's Loving Wives, so I can't wait to have people hate it!

I still wish it wasn't destined for a long life in Pending .. but that's the reality of things right now.

I recommend messaging her. It cannot hurt, as long as you are polite and state your position reasonably.

I understand the frustration with the delay in approval, as I've experienced that, too. But I'm less clear about your frustration about comments. You've only been publishing since August, so you may not know what to expect. After the first month, when a story gets its highest concentration of views, the views, and also the comments, drop off considerably. Your stories to date show a relatively high level of comment engagement, so compared to the norm you seem to be doing fine. Comments here are few and far between. That's the norm. Your "It Was Nothing" series so far has about 60,000 views and 97 comments. That's good.

To give you a point of reference, my story Drive In Date With Mom, published in 2022, has over 441,000 views, and a grand total of 75 comments. This despite having a 4.7 score and being one of my most-favorited stories.

You can't write for comments here. Enjoy them when you get them, but don't get attached to their regular appearance.
