I've been watching them for a while, ripping out all the blackberry bushes on the road verge.
They put it all in a big pile and set fire to it.
Unfortunately, it has jumped to a stand of trees, and now there are 4 firetrucks trying to put it out.
We're supposed to have a storm later - maybe that'll do the job for them.
Typical stupid council
It's a fair way down the hill from my place, plus we have a big cleared area of paddocks around the house, so we'll be fine if it doesn't get contained. My neighbours, otoh, are right in line the way the wind is blowing.

There is the "dumb" or the cheap. They should have a safe field somewhere to haul the stuff or else compost it. Duh.

My sympathy.

We're cool up here. The wind is blowing from the west and the fire is about 1.5km downwind, down the hill.
I just went down and opened the sluice on the bottom dam, so the water runs down to a natural hole close by for the firies to pump from. We have plenty of water as all the dams are full atm.
They seem to be getting a handle on it, but the wind has increased quite a bit, so I hope they get it out before it gets too strong!

The weather has finally arrived - strong winds but also rain.
Great billows of smoke coming from the fire area, but I suspect it'll be a while yet before it's out.

Poking fun at her racism is all well and good, but please try to be humorous about it.

When you see a blackberry bush...

...do you cross the street?

That was lame, but it would have been better than your shit attempt.
