so he says he accepts full responsibility, but his lawyer doesn't agree with that statement
the attacker:
it's there. on cam. the physical assault clear as day even if the evidence of sexual abuse is not...can anyone, people who've been on the wrong end of a violent relationship, especially, see that level of violence and disdain and not be convinced he's guilty of the other claims? if not proven 'guilty' by other evidence, at least feel he's totally capable of them and so easier to reach a 'beyond a reasonable doubt' verdict?
he's damned lucky she took the settlement.
and, yes, i understand people can change, particularly when no longer under the influence... i just find the 7 year gap and then that lawyer's statement way too big a pile of shit to swallow.
and how comes it took this 'so disgusted with himself' assailant 7 whole years to make some redress to the abused? how come he only made/reached a settlement with her the day after she filed against him? if he were genuinely so disgusted and sorry at the time (and at ANY time over the following 7 years), how come he denied and refuted? it was HIS team that put out his lawyer's statement following his own 'words of regret'

his lawyer:“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that. I was f-cked up. I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, and I’m disgusted now.”
do what now???"Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing," Brafman said. "Mr. Combs' decision to settle the lawsuit does not, in any way, undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best."

In November 2023, Ventura, 37, filed a lawsuit in the Federal District Court in Manhattan, alleging that Combs had physically and sexually abused her for years during their relationship. Ventura filed the lawsuit under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which at that point allowed accusers to file lawsuits after the statute of limitations had passed.
Ventura and Combs reached a settlement one day after she filed the lawsuit.
