Huh, De Niro, eh? Pretty cool.

This one was on Netflix and sort of followed one of the women who did a voice through to the convention.

That was A Brony Tale. Same director did another film called I Am Chris Farley that's also worth a look.

The other movie is Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of `My Little Pony'. You get more of Lauren Faust (the creator) and Tara Strong in that one.

It's a pretty standard story: basically-dead-on-arrival cartoon made to sell toys tries something a little different, becomes an international phenomenon, and changes the way an entire industry does business by dynamiting age, gender, and copyright norms into oblivion via tales involving "Weird Al" Yankovic and creatures dressed like Hunter S. Thompson.

Hard to say. Plot is that Twilight and undetermined company head back to the Crystal Empire to visit Flurry Heart, and hears word of a Changeling spy in town.

A Changeling flew into town during the final scene of the second episode this season, so they were gonna show up at some point.

Long-term, the big red flag of the series is Flurry Heart. She was born an alicorn - which doesn't happen, so said Celestia - and already has ridiculous amounts of power. Could she turn evil?

Innocence of youth vs. prejudices (not unfounded; they eat love) of old. This should be interesting. And a perfect place to take Spike's character.

It's not like they haven't tackled similar issues a few times. I'm kind of amazed they've never had Spike get huffy or Fluttershy or Rarity make a comment about dragons that Spike didn't like.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that 'alt' Rarity from the timeline when Nightmare Moon won?

I've read just enough fan fiction and it's been so long since I've seen season one that while I think I remember there being a conversation about why Fluttershy has no problem with Spike but can't talk to adult dragons and she comments something about "well he's not like THOSE dragons" and that rarity dropped a simialar statement at some point.

Yup, that's her.

Yeah, and I think Rarity called them "brutes" at one point, but "majestic" during the migration.

Spike's duality as friend to ponies and being a dragon has been broached, but I'm thinking a Changeling friend is gonna push the issue a bit. You know there's going to be a moment where Spike gets on a soapbox and says that, just because other dragons are evil, the ponies didn't reject him - therefore, they should give swiss-cheese legs a chance.

Welp, the show is about to break the internet (again).

Top trending on twitter, almost 10,000 articles in Google News. The Republican party has unintentionally coined the "`My Little Pony' Defense" term for plagiarism. Twilight Sparkle is highly amused. Tara Strong, Lauren Faust, and Megan McCarthy are loving it - even Patton Oswalt is having a field day. And I'm sure that somewhere, writers for the late shows are ready to take advantage.
