Lavender's Thread

Lavender’s thread, of course, made me think just a little, remembering.
Munchkinmark post on that thread ‘everyone has a golden era in lit,’ made me remember even more and when I turn back to look, I see that time tinted in gold.

I remember it all well of course and it is the people but of course that come flooding back as it was my Golden time.

So many people and so much fun :)with just a little tears.

I would read the posts of others, I did not post so much but the wit and passion warmed and stirred me, I think. In a lonely place, it was comforting to connect with people and to watch the lit life circle around us.

Friends ask why I do not return permanently. It is I think, much like leaving home, perhaps? When you return it is never the same. :(

People but of course construct the lit board into what it is and people were the force of my Golden Time.
Siren – it is sad she is not here, she was so kind although she tried to hide it a little, she was kind to me when I was new. I remember very late one night she made me very homesick.
Cymbidia – for all her faults and eccentricities, she was fearless and open. We all have private demons and she fought hers with passion and strength.
Starfish, Laurel, Ruby, Foxinsox, Modest Mouse, Killermuffin,Todd, Rose, Swedish Chef , International Fun Boy, Georgia Girl, Cheyenne, Simply Southern, Jim, Dilinger, Patient 1, Sexy Girl, Marxist, Shy, Risiaskye, April, Debbie (always so kind and thoughtful), that young man who wanted to be an artist, – so many. (My memory is no longer as good. But of course, I blame the wine.;) )

The feuds and the amusing threads with Problem Child, Rick Deville and Dixon – always witty, sarcastic and brave. They made me smile many times and it was a time I needed to smile. I have met some lit in the real world and have always been surprised at how similar people are in person to the board personality. It is a comforting thing, I think. :)

I will not go further, if I do, it becomes another list thread :(

Memories bring me back from time to time but it is not the same for me. That does not mean it is worse or better, it is simply not golden. I choose to believe that in my time, there was dignity and respect – but of course there were fights, flames and tantrums – but the dignity remained. As did the respect. This, at least, is my memory of my golden time.

We inhabit a cruel and vicious world, a world humans constructed and each day we enter it. Some are hardened by it and bring the battle with them wherever they go, others flee to saner and safer places. It is good, I think, that we all have golden times inside us to remember, to keep the light of dignity alive, to live and but of course, to love.

From one of my small poems:
Things have changed.
I have learned it is better,
to leave some things in the past

For those that remember, I wish you life and love.

You were so very nice to me when I started. I always think of you as one of my mentors. You, Lukkyknight, Patient1.

So much talent you have and I always felt happy to read your posts.

The same to you and yours. Your stories are at the top of the required reading list for my subs.

Figuratif oui. C'est la vie, non ?

I don't actually speak French.

That's cool. I don't actually speak German, Spanish or Klingonese either, but I can fake them fairly well, in that (descending) order.

I wish you would visit us more often. But when you do - it is
a great pleasure. :)

Thank you for your kind words and wonderful stories.

I remember you, Nessus. You seemed French, somehow, if I can think straight enough to remember.

There was always something comforting in our morning chats. The words of wisdom you shared me with won't be forgotten. I do keep the golden times handy when I need them.

I will always remember your words You can't choose who you love, love chooses you.

I now understand them. Thank you for sharing with us. Your life, your words, your beautiful pictures.

May you have laughter, smiles and love everyday. Merci.

Hey, stranger! Patient1 and I remember you. It's nice to see you back, if even only for a post or two. :)

I don't know you, but I have read your writing and I think you are one of the finest writers I have read in my time at Lit.

Good morning beautiful lady. 'Tis a good day when we are graced by a visit from you.

This has to be the sweetest post to come on this board in ages... thank you for the memories you brought back.

I wish you well.
