Yesterday was my first time ... that I have gone to the movies all by myself ! :)

For those thinking I was talking about the other first time, wrong thread. :p

But, I must say it was not bad going to the movies alone. I went to see a movie called " Y tu mama tambien". I heard many people talking about it and when I told my friends I wanted to go we would make plans but then @ the last minute they would change their minds and we would end up going to see another movie.

Needless to say I went and bought my ticket. I went into the theater and sat right in the middle and waited for the movie to start... I was the only one seeing it that afternoon.

I had a good time ... but I don't think I will be going to the movies by myself that much ... I was anxious to talk to someone about the movie afterwards.

Overall it was an interesting movie .. to say the least. :)

I, myself, like going to the movies alone. The more empty the theatre is, the better. Late Sunday night is a great time to go, there's often only one or two others. None, if I'm Lucky. Most people don't understand how to properly watch a movie. Proper by MY standards, anyway.

With the exception of AmishPope. We used to do the Sunday movie thing every week after work. I've never enjoyed going with whichever girlfriend at the time. And I absolutely can't stand being roped into going with a group.

Thinking about it, some movies ARE better with a full house, the first time, anyway. Star Wars. Spider-Man. Movies that are applauded with vigor when the credits begin to roll.

Going to the movies by myself is one of those rare indulgences for me. I used to do it all the time, but my S/O thinks it's rude to go without him and gets all pissy, if I say I want to go with out him. Every once in a while, if I am really stressed he says," you need to relax, you should go to the movies alone tonite". Isn't he sweet!

Also, there is something to be said about sharing the experience with other people. Feeling your greasy fingers mingling with your partner, as you both reach for the last of the popcorn. Having wonderful, insightful conversations while waiting in long lines outside the theater. Holding hands during the whole flick...squeezing harder during the romantic lines.

Uh , I don't think my friend would like that ... she would think I am coming on to her and that is the last thing I would want to do ....

But , yes I understand where its nice to go to the movies with your S/O ... :)

Good point.

Movie safety tip #1- While sharing popcorn with friends, do not lick your lips or attempt to curl your fingers around theirs.

Tip #2-Also important is to avoid grasping hands with said friends, it does not matter that you just "happen to like that armrest better"

No problem there... my friend does not like to share...

She has a thing about her pop corn and who can and can't place their hands in her popcorn box ...
