Yes Vegas is in NV, and Reno is north of vegas. Its cooler here though. Higher elevation and farther north. But also in the desert.

Actually the stuff in East Anglia is tidal added to the wind blowing the sea across. Worse than the 1953 floods which killed 600 people apparently, although the sea defences are better now and they have evacuated people from their homes.
