My first "How to..."

Sorry to disappoint. It's not about sex, but it is about writing.

It's a guided exercise called How To Write A Character Biography. With any luck, it will help you quickly and easily create characters with depth that you know quite well.

That's a heckuva list! (not that that's a bad thing)

I've never written a char. bio, and I've never done the meditation exercise. Usually, I already know, intuitively, the answers to about 90% of those questions when I'm in the first stages of creating a character.

A few of them took me by surprise, though, such as: Who was their mentor? and the ones pertaining to family pets. It never occurred to me to find out who their mentors are. That's a good one!

And I'll have to try that meditation exercise.

I use it for all of my serious writing. It really works. And funny, once in a while you get so much from a character that you find a new story unexpectedly.
