I came home Saturday and she was limping. Now she won't use her front right leg at all. After trying to figure out how I was going to pay for an appt for her, I called and got her in on Thursday.

i don't know what to think. How the hell did she even hurt it? She won't even hardly let me touch her toes. I gave her an aspirin to help with the pain. Let me see if I can find a pic of her.

This is a younger picture of Elvira.

Is it swollen? Did you look for wounds or a sticker?

I did. I looked between her toes and pads on Saturday. I didn't find anything. she isn't licking it, there wasn't any blood when I first searched it. Now, she won't even let me touch it.

That tells me it's getting worse. I hope the aspirin helps with her pain until Thursday. I can't tell if it's swollen or not???

hopefully it's just a sprain, pinkie - they can get hot, swollen, and painful to touch. a dog can sprain their foot as easily as a person, from running or even just treading awkwardly on something. she's clearly resting it as best she can by not using it - and you probably know dogs can be the biggest babies when it comes to anything amiss with them, though others refuse to show any signs of discomfort.

is it possible she has a snake/insect bite/sting? if you've found no puncture wounds or other worrying marks, it's unlikely.

hope she's ok till thursday and the vet'll be able to tell you fast enough what the problem is. good luck. :rose:

No bite, she wasn't outside when it happened. She is pretty much an inside doggie.

She just keeps looking at me with those sad eyes, like "help me."

I will just have to wait until Thursday to find out but I sill admit that I feel so helpless.

how old is she, pink? could it be arthritis or rheumatism due to old age?

PINK

Mine pulled a nail out a couple of weeks ago. Same symptoms, no blood. They do that if the nail gets caught in something.

Her nail isn't growing into her pad is it? This happened with one of my cats a few months back and was really painful. Dunno if it happens with dogs so much though.

awwwwww Poor baby. She is in such pain, I can't figure out if it is her nails or what it is.

I will post again on Thursday and let everyone know.

Now that could be. i'm sure the vet will look there. Her nails are kind of a mess. It sounds very sound. I just hope they can help her.
