Well ok, not spontaneously. I guess the 220 volts I was attempting to pump through it had something to do with it.

So now I have a fuse to replace, a lingering smell of burnt plastic in the kitchen, and no bloody coffee.

Like the kids say, fml.

It was escaping racism and tyranny of having a forbidden affair with Mike Yates' dishwasher.

What? The Blurt Bitch Thread too good for your wanker queen impersonations now, wannabe?

I should be. You can clearly not be trusted with caffeine.

I use a pressure cooker to make coffee.
Strap a cell phone to it so as to not overheat it.

Sorry to hear that. If you're a coffee snob you may want to look at the Behmor Brazen Plus as a replacement.

I'm a coffee snob in terms of coffee. Not the bells and whistles to make it. As long as it can hold a filter and heat the water without adding funky taste, it'll do.

Anyway, found the french press and adjusted the grinder. So all is good.

Denny

We recently moved and brought the Kuirig thing. We are cheap. "Thrifty". We use Folgers in a reusable replacement cartrige.
After one short year and only two weeks here it plugged up and everyone who swore they could unplug it failed. Bunch of loosers!

So we bought an I-Coffee. Very similar but more pretty lights. It has it's own reuseable coffee container thingie for thrifty people. Actually makes smoother and better coffee.
Still being cheap, thrifty, we make a second cup with the same used grounds.

Also we just ate at Denny's. Did you know a regular cup of coffee costs $2.15 plus tax? I remember when good coffee was 5 cents a cup! WTF?

This is not an endorcement for I-Coffee, Folgers, or Denny's.

This message sent by magic over a long piece of wire outside.

Dolly, that's hilarious!

My coffee maker is on it's way out :(
Makes a hell of a racket when pouring the water now.
I will be sad to see it die - it has given me many cups of awesomeness during its life.

My sympathies.
