Ok. so for the first time EVER, I'm living with a female I am not related to. It's insane! is there a rule book for this?

She has, not kidding you 40 pairs of shoes, and enough clothes to fill over half of the closet! Is this normal?

I mean come on, why does any one need that many clothes???????

1. Oh man TM, you didn't get the offical rule book in the mail? Yikes!!

2. Most girls I know have a serious thing for shoes, ignore it. They usually end up barefoot and the shoes, gathering dust in the closet, do not ever suggest getting rid of them!

3. and your final question, I have no idea, I've wondered that for years.

Oh and welcome to the wonderful world of living with a woman! Lol

(Just kidding Pix!) (Hug)

Don't hate the shoes or clothes. Do you like the way she looks? Yes?

'nuff said.

;)

(I'd try to explain it, but you wouldn't understand, not in a million years. You lack the genes)

I've been explained to, and your right Cloudy, I didn't understand it, but that's fine.

did you hide my jeans somewhere?

Forty pairs of shoes does seem like a lot, but it is not even close to being a record. As for the clothes, consider yourself lucky that you can refer to them as filling over half the closet. If they filled over 90% of the closet space, that would be closer to normal. Even so, she will frequently complain about a lack of anything to wear.

It seems that I've been blessed in my choice of woman.
Not one has had more than a dozen pairs.

There are different types of clothing a woman owns.
1. Dressy
2. Comfy
3. Too small
4. Too big
5. The ones that will fit 5 lbs from now..
6. The ones that won't, but they might someday.
7. The ones that never will again, EVER, but they were too expensive to throw out.
You should feel lucky you got that much closet space. Most women aren't that sweet. ;)
:D
As for shoes.. they must color coordinate with outfits.
Heights of heels need to be taken into consideration.
Comfort level is also considered, and usually discarded.
The number one rule of shoes? Every woman needs at least 10 pairs she's never worn. :D
(Not even getting into the 10 pairs that were worn, then promptly removed the minute you get in the car.. or the 10 pairs that have the ability to hobble and maim your feet.. or.. ;))

I have six pair of shoes. That's two pairs more than my girlfriend.

I also own more clothes than her. But most of them are socks. I think socks might be my secret hoarding gene poking at my brain.

She on the other hand have enough panties to last her til Christmas. I only win the race because socks come in pairs.

I've begun to entertain the notion that we're both insane.

So...do men not like this? if so, I'd like to ask why I'm not getting more men asking me to leave my husband and be their own true love?

I hate clothes shopping. I hate shoe shopping. I'm the sort of woman who'd does fine with a few teeshirts (sweaters for winter), some jeans and a pair of sandals (boots for winter). My husband's clothes take up twice as much room in the closet as mine do. I have one dressy dress for special occasions, one skirt-and-top outfit for nice occasions.

Yet, for some reason...guys who complain about all those shoes and clothes their ladies have don't seem to want someone like me. :(

Maybe they imagined that all those clothes and shoes that made their women attractive to them came out of thin air?

Ah. Now it makes sense;
Size Does Matter

Course it does.
Ya can't make butter with a toothpick. ;) :p  :D
(haha, I joke. :D)

I am gonna confess... that's my biggest problem also.
At least they go in a drawer and not the closet!
(Even if they do have their own drawer.)

just one drawer?!

I'm up to three....

I'm almost needing to work on a second.
But I've thrown some old ones away and some new ones that were worthless..
Funny how much we spend on panties.
Mine are never on long enough to get my money's worth.

:D

As long as you two are satisfying each other sexually and frequently, you shouldn't care if her closet looks like the basement at Filene's.

Women have clothes and shoes, men have garages and tools; it's a fact of nature. ;)

One of the best parts of preparing for a weekend away is buying new underwear! :D They may not be on long but the effect is priceless.

Does this mean I lose my female status because I don't have a shoe thing?

I only take up half the closet with my clothes.

Now...panties? Ok...two dresser drawers full...but that's normal, right?

You forgot 8. Things that you don't have anything else to go with and/or an occasion to wear them ... yet.

I own eight pairs of shoes, but I have a good reason. Steve and Barry's went out of business and everything in the store was eight dollars or less. When you're a size 14, you can't be choosy. As far as the clothes, I'd try the vacuum bags they advertise on television. I've heard they do wonders.

Exactly! Come, join us in the panty-drawer diaries! loll

*slaps forehead* Of course! Like my melon/peach pair of capris I bought last summer that I still haven't worn because of a shoe issue..

I don't think I'd be okay with that. Do you know how much extra effort that would be when you tried to have a clothes tantrum? (You know what I mean ladies, when you're getting ready for the day, and NOTHING looks right. Too fat in this, that doesn't go well enough with those pants... then the next thing ya know it looks like Hurricane *insert your name here* came through.)
I need all my clothes hung there so I can go through them thoroughly. :D

That might deserve it's own thread! :D

I, on the other hand, bought an entire wardrobe to travel with that goes with the shoes I wanted to pack.

In Canada, we have to rotate clothing...the parkas aren't out at the same time as the bathing suits, generally....

Ooh, you may be right! Sorry, I forgot to coment on your last post about buying new panties for the weekend. I think I have a problem. Pretty much every time I go shopping I get new ones.. At this point in my life, I think the boy-short variety are my favorite. (Throw a pair of those on with a tank top, and I'm in for it, lol.)

I, on the other hand, bought an entire wardrobe to travel with that goes with the shoes I wanted to pack.
Been there, done that, lol. Is it bad I buy shoes and jewelery first a lot of the time, then go hunting for the outfit? :D

Our closet goes on into the wall on both sides, so the winter clothes get rotated into the deep dark pits. :) Then they come out, and the winter clothes go right behnd the doors. But I can't pack summer stuff totally away.. what if I need that tank top to go under that sweater?!?! LOL. :D

eta: p.s. My boyfriend asked that I please not buy any more clothes until we buy a dresser.
(We have a chest of drawers, but it's full. I also have a pajama fetish.... )

I'm trying to imagine an occasion when they CAN be worn together.

1. Oh man TM, you didn't get the offical rule book in the mail? Yikes!!

The Official Rule Book was taken off the shelves at the behest of Hilary Clinton and Sarah Palin (they got it from Margaret Thatcher). There's an Appendix issued by Angel Merkel, as yet untranslated.Carla Bruni-Sarkosi is reputed to have been invited to contribute to the next edition.
