I have posted 3 stories. The level and ratings seem unual. Three questions:
1) What the heck happened in mid-august?
2) How important is getting in the right category?
3) are readers of a certain category more likely to vote?

The details:
1) Erotic couplings is DOMINATED by stories from 8-16 Aug! 7 of the top 10 from mid august...wow. I should have waited a month! What happened?
2) I posted Desert Fun and it has a 4.67 in erotic couplings! I also posted Gym Shower with a decent 4.33 in Exhib, but I think Gym Shower is better...wrong category maybe?
3) I also posted A Spring Break Threesome in group sex...over 100 votes with a 4.55! On average, nearly 0.7% of E coupling readers voted, roughly 0.4% of group sexers, and only 0.2% of exhib, a significant difference. Has anyone else seen this?

Hi astuffedshirt_perv,

'mind if I call you perv for short? :)

What the heck happened in mid-august? Beats me, but it is odd now that you mention it.

How important is getting in the right category?

Again that's a hard one, I mean many stories tend to slip over into two categories don't they? I guess if your looking for some hot and heavy bdsm, and you get halfway through a story that looked promising but is not, you might get a little annoyed. Alternatively, if you are looking for something sensual and romanic and end up reading about whips and chains, again you will be disappointed. Perhaps even disappointed enough to give the story a low vote.

Personally I like the idea some authors have of noting at the beginning of a story if it contains more than the reader might be expecting. i.e. this story contains elements of incest as well as (what ever it might be).

Are readers of a certain category more likely to vote?

Yes I believe so. B and I write in several catagories. The difference in voting and ratings for us anyway is marked.

Oh, by the way, you can change the section you story has been place in if you wish. :) Just resubmit, and add edited in brackets next to the title, with a short note attached.

Have a great day,
Alex (fem)

Thanks for the tip.
I may do that just to fix a few typos.
If I do, are the votes reset to zero?
