I like the song "Thousand Years" by Christina Perri.

I thought it was nicely profound and about the subjective feeling of being in love and how it alters your perception of time and pain.

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Then I come to find out that it's actually really more literal and it's about freakin' hot sparky vampires.

I am betrayed.

Do I still like the song?

These are important questions.

Sometimes you just have to let art flow over you.

I don't think I could like it after knowing it was about sparkly vampires. Maybe if the song was released after Interview With a Vampire came out, but eh... probably not.

It's kind of like finding out that Ring Around The Rosie is about the Bubonic Plague.

What the hell? Am I supposed to play it now and have fun?

Hey, I like "Beds are Burning" by Midnight Oil, I love the music, but I hate the lyrics. Should I not listen?

I love "S&M" by Rihanna. God is that fun to sing. And based on her personal history I'm just encouraging her.

Aw, crap.

I thought it was about Game Of Thones

I love Christina Perri.

Great voice.

Hate the cheesy tats.

I was sucked in because I don't always turn my head and approve of a song on Pandora on its merits. Occasionally I look up (like today) and say "WTF? That song is about sparkly vampires?"

I was not vigilant.
