Music sharing thread...

Stirbird, thanks for the music.

Dolly Parton has rhinestones on her clothing, enormous hair, wears more make-up in one day than I probably do in a month and yet... she seems like a very genuine person. Not many can pull that off. She's a wonderful and prolific songwriter too.

Sting doing Mack Knife was kind of like a bad acid trip. Was he serious when he recorded that you think or just playing around?

I like Dolly P. very much. :)

About Sting, who knows? The song itself is very sardonic and playful, which I think is why some people choose to cover it. Others choose it simply because it's well known. :/ Someday I'll post my Dave Van Ronk version here, which is playful and soulful at the same time, I really love it...but I've got to get a handle on rip-tech first. ;)

His doing it with the Polka beat was what really floored me. I'd love to hear the Dave Van Ronk version. I like his stuff.

I know how to rip! (finally, something I know how to do) Do you have Windows NT?

LOL, yeah that polka was something. :) I have XP.

For some strange reason I can't DL the Sting ...

I have him doing Mack the Knife already on my computer but wanted to compare & see if this was a different version ... :D

I got lots of Sting ... Cos friend of mine is a big Sting / Police fan ...

I almost hate to post this cause people won't give it a try. It is totally differrnt then the older stuff. Much more mature. Great even with the political crap thrown in. Much more Alt then streamline. Great CD.

I'm sorry you can't download the Sting. I'll reupload it a little later. I bet it's the same version. I like Sting's Bourbon Street. :)

Oh no! A mystery Song! Can you guess what it is from the pic? Don't download until you guess. (This should be a no-brainer for most of you, but I liked the pic.)

One more hint: Here are the first four words of the song:
Zuh. Zuh. Zuh. Zuh.

You got it! :) That site has changed their format. After you get to the page you have to right click the "Download" link and save as to your computer.

Doesn't matter a bit to me, Lava. I miss a lot of good downloads in this thread anyway because I don't get online soon enough, so I don't mind repeats. If I already have the file, my pc tells me. :)

I listened to Rasheeda and laughed so hard (right after thinking Uh huh)! That was great, Stirbird.

LOL, yeah. I don't even personally like what she's describing, but I still completely agree with the spirit of the song.
