Does anyone have personal experience with a .wma to .mp3 converter that you download?

Now that I've found them, there are a million, and I'd like to see if anyone has actually used one that works well and is simple to install/operate.

dBpoweramp used to do it as freeware. Now they have been handed a "cease and desist" order by the originator of the mp3 format and his lawyers. So dBpoweramp is no longer free. I have a copy of the installation file for the last free version if anyone needs it. Just PM me and I can make arrangements to send it to you.

ps. dBpoweramp can convert any audio file to another format, including lossless with the proper codecs

edit: I meant to say, the coverting to mp3 via dBpoweramp is no longer free. I do believe converting to any other format is still freely allowed with the program.

Also. It is the best conversion program out there...free or not.
If you want the best ripper...try EAC (Exact Audio Copy). That's what I use and I highly recommended. It uses the latest lame.exe for ripping to mp3 . It is freeware too. Grab it before they get court papers like dB did.

I have a whole bag of other digital audio programs I can suggest that might interest someone here. If interested, for volume normalizing, tagging, cover art, splicing etc. Feel free to ask any time.

anyone else having problems getting that Baker street - foo fighters? I'm getting an error warning, I tried a couple of others, one said the same, but now it works. This just my end?
