Most of our muches are laid back and time for members to socialize within the bounds of a public venue. There would be announcements of events coming up and sometimes topics of discussion that were of interest to the group as a whole. We usually had greeters for any one new showing up to introduce them around and explain how we operated.

We have three munches every month here at different places, each munch is unique in the size and age range of the group. I usually attend all three, I really love my local BDSM Community. Generally we just socialize and eat, sometimes we play a mingling game. After two of the meetings we head over to our private playspace. You are not required to play, some go to watch, and others to socialize.

One great thing for the newby is they can contact the group organizer and be set up with a "Munch Buddy" to introduce them around. We also have different group meeting each month where you can talk with others about various topics. Newcomer's Meetings, Early Bloomers (those 18-35 yrs old), and Special Interest Groups (Dominant Roundtable, SubSpace, and Switches Guild). These are just the group sponsored events, we also have coffee gatherings each week and other impromptu events.

Basically what I am saying is, if you want to be involved and meet like minded people in the real world there are plenty of opportunities. I went to my first munch about a year ago, what I found was not just a group of people but people who I could be myself with completely and be accepted for who I am. I am very glad I went and continue to attend.
