The original Mini was simple, basic transportation. As with the original Beetle. There's no market in America for simple, basic. Everything needs to have power windows and power steering and air conditioning and automatic transmission. It's too bad.

its just the people who missed out on the sixties properly re-branding the 'feeling' to sell to the next generation. which i frankly find appaling

i wouldn't mind a good old fashioned simple mine or a good old fashioned beetle as long as i can get it hooked up with a decent heater, as the ones i drove, were a tad bit cold for canadian weather, but with adequte heating i would love to have access to one again

Yeah of course I have sat in them and seen the new and old one sitting next to each other.

There is no way you will be able to sell large numbers of a vehicle as small as the original Mini or beetle in the current US car market.

Just look at the advertisements for the latest SUV's they are advertising bigger and larger just for the sake of being bigger and larger. Buy this truck it is even bigger now then last year they say or largest in its class or the largest luxury suv you can buy.

It is pathetic.

I want a Mini... I think they are cute zipping along the freeway... besides I would look so cute in a aqua one with white trim...
