Inspired by the "pod people" comment..... I got to thinking about those great movie lines that just seem to come up in my conversations a lot.... Like:

"This war is going to end some day" from Apocalypse Now.

"Uhhhh Don't cross the streams, that would be bad"

and/or from the same movie.

"cats and dogs living together, total anarchy" both from "Ghostbusters"

or

"You and me? There is no 'you and me'" From Pulp Fiction....

I have used all of those in the last week....

:D

"I'll be back." One I use all the time :D

I know there are more but my mind's gone blank *L*

Classic.

"cats and dogs living together, total anarchy" both from "Ghostbusters"
I find the follow-up to the first line very useful: "I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing..."

"You and me? There is no 'you and me'" From Pulp Fiction....
"I'm a racecar, and you've got me in the red. That's all I'm sayin'..."

Da, da, da, da! (uhhh a little Russian slipped out there.... by the way that is DDDD! in text message speak.)

"We're on a mission from God" from the Blues Brothers. Just comes up a lot.

I could have sworn it was "Mass hysteria!" /semantics...

I use tons of movie lines, every day. Lately I have been using "It's a metaphore, but not really" from Dodgeball, but I use all manner of Airplane and Caddyshack quotes all of the time. A couple of Wizzard of Oz quotes too. "She's dead, you killed her" will pop up for no apparent reason every few weeks.

The "Liar!" and "Boo!" speeches from The Princess Bride come up a lot, as do others. Hell, I quote half of the movie over the course of every two months. "You'd like to think that, wouldn't you!?" - "Hello lady." - "Aaaaassssss yooooooouuuuuu wiiiiiisssssshhhhhhh..."

Yes, I went there and added letters imply sustain on vocal notes.

Oh hell yeah!

and

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father prepare to die"

and....

"INCONCEIVABLE".... Now THAT comes up a lot!

"You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means."

(I haven't seen The Princess Bride, but after hearing this several times, I finally asked and found out where it came from...)

Yes, I use those, but I didn't want to try to spell some of those words (if I can avoid bad spelling I will ;) ).

"What the hell does he know, he's an ignorant old man!" came up for me the other day.

Most of my life is movie quotes and song lyrics. Just earlier I was humming "Oh no, not again!" from Rod Stewart - Infatuation.

Dear God, man!

In our home / in my childhood:

"Stop exacerbating things!" / "No, I mean, what does the word 'exacerabate' mean?" -- Shaun of the Dead

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" -- Animal House

"Eat one foot, and they call you a cannibal for life." -- The Big Bus (think "Airplane" on a bus)

OMG. I saw that movie when it came out, haven't seen it since, but I practically remember everything.

"Breaking wind at ninety!" :D

I use a lot of movie quotes at work. It's a 'thing' we do. Some of my favorites:

"It just . . . popped in there." And, of course, the follow-up, which I use whenever one the servers has a thoughtful look on their face: "What 'just popped in there,' Ray?" (Ghostbusters)

"Now, is my shit together, or is my shit together?" (From Dusk Till Dawn)

"Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." (Don't think I need to state where that's from)

"To the pain!" (Princess Bride)

"Ha-roo!" (300)

"He slimed me." Whenever someone accidentally spills something on my foot -- happens a lot, alas.

"You could be swingin' on a star . . ." (The way Bruce Willis said it as he was sitting down next to Andie McDowell at the auction in Hudson Hawk)

When I saw that, I was thinking of the scene toward the end of Spaceballs, in the diner . . . .

Speaking of Spaceballs, the Ape people at the end saying "Oh shit, there goes the planet" comes up around my house a lot, as does "I see your schwarz is as big as mine."

And I still have Infatuation stuck in my head...

Other Mel Brookes lines that get used a lot by my family in the every day:

"Watch the stairs, they can be treacherous." - Young Frankenstein

"Igor!" - "Frodrake!" - Young Frankenstein

"There's a nasty looking switch over there, but I'm not going to be the first." - "Damn your eyes!" - Too late." - Young Frankenstein

"Put the candle back!" - Young Frankenstein
(yes, we quote Young Frankenstein a lot)

"Is this the man, who tells the joke about my becoming a pickle!?" - To Be or Not To Be

"Let me just wip this out." - Blazing Saddles.

Hell, we quote all of his movies before Men in Tights (we didn't like that movie).

We also quote Seinfeld quite often.

"Why Elaine, what are you doing here?" - Jerry after trying to smother George with a pillow in the hospital.

"If they're not cotten Dockers, they're just pants." - Kramer

"It's gold Jerry, gold!" - Bania

"Newman!" - Everyone but Newman.

Hell, I guess we just quote a lot of Seinfeld in general...

I'd leave some, but you could make entire threads off some of the quotes that come up. I mean, I don't have a weekly group anymore, but I'm still a gamer and when you put a bunch of us together at a con or something you're bound to get massive quotes based around certain things...

Python
eg, "And after the spanking...."
Comics
eg, "What do you expect? The Comedian is dead."
Movies
eg, "And I say I'm dead and I move."
Songs/Comedy Recordings
eg, "Boot to the head. THUMP!"

Brooks' last good movie was Spaceballs. Period.

"'Scuse me while I whip this out." (sorry, had to correct it). I use this one a lot, too. It has so many applications . . . :D
