Move Over EXXON, Florida Man Makes You Redundant!

_____

We saw the energy cycle when we recently crossed Kansas -- oil wells feeding fertilizer plants, feeding maize corn fields, feeding food- and ethanol-makers and distillers and cattle lots, feeding slaughterhouses, feeding McFood outlets fueled by the same chthonic petrol. Windmill farms crawl over the horizon threatening change. Will the energy revolution be televised?

How were you crossing Kansas? On foot?

We were ending a 3-month small-RV drive from California to North Carolina and back. Along the Tennessee-Kentucky and Arkansas-Missouri lines just after Memorial Day 2017 to northeast Oklahoma, then up the Flint Hills across Kansas (that's mostly US77), stopping at my old Ft Riley vicinity (hey, there's Custer Hill! and the bison paddock!) and then up to Nebraska's sandhill country.

I hadn't been there since separating from the Army after Labor Day 1976 when I drove off through the perimeter storms of a Pacific hurricane. We were in no hurry; we lollygagged. I saw what I could. (I've left out the bits about near-blindness from Arkansas on.) But the oil-2-food linkage I described earlier was pretty obvious.

An effective alternative fuel fantastic....Which you'll still probably buy from Exxon or one of the other large companies. Car companies are going towards electric cars (heard a very interesting radio show about the auto industry) so I'm sure their partners will join them.
