Today’s ‘Climate Crisis’ Is a Fairy Tale

For the past 35 years, the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has warned us that emissions from the burning of fossil fuels, predominantly carbon dioxide (CO2), are causing dangerous global warming. This myth is blindly accepted — even by many of my science colleagues who know virtually nothing about climate. As a scientist, my purpose here is to help expose this fairy tale.

The global warming story is not a benign fantasy. It is seriously damaging Western economies. In January 2021, the White House ridiculously declared that “climate change is the most serious existential threat to humanity.” From there, America went from energy independence back to energy dependence. Another consequence has been the appearance of numerous companies whose goal is to “sequester CO2” as well as “sequester carbon” from our atmosphere. However, this so-called “solution” is scientifically impossible. Life on Earth is based on carbon! CO2 is plant food, not a pollutant!

Generations have been brainwashed for decades into believing this imaginary “climate crisis,” from kindergarten through college, and in mainstream media and social media. Indoctrinated young teachers feel comfortable teaching this misinformation to students. Dishonest climate scientists feel justified in spreading disinformation because they need governmental support for salaries and research.

The evidence contradicting the climate apocalypse is vast. Some comes from analysis of Greenland and Antarctica ice, in which air trapped at various depths reveals CO2 levels of past climate. Proxy records from marine sediment, dust (from erosion, wind-blown deposition of sediments), and ice cores provide a record of past sea levels, ice volume, seawater temperature, and global atmospheric temperatures.

He’s not a climate scientist though.

Climate change is being exploited by mulitnational organizations and corporations that want more control and profit. They will fail and disappear, and then climate will still be changing.

I've been hearing this nonsense "but moving away from fossil fuels will destroy the economy!!!" but have yet to see any evidence of such. Any change in paradigm is an opportunity.

Climate change is very real, its not the last 35 years its over a century at this point. So far it hasn't crippled the West so I have no idea where you got that stupid idea.

It works both ways. Staying on fossil fuels will also destroy the economy. History is funny that way.

Oh… we’re on that now… it’s all a hoax.
You know what’s really messed up?
Birds.
They’re not real, dude.
They’re actually all drones, created by the govt to spy on us!

And just in case anyone’s tin foil hat is really cutting off blood flow to the brain - yes, that’s a conspiracy theory.
Get smart.
Science doesn’t care if you don’t believe in it, nor does climate change.
It’s a reality.

Nothing you’ve said has and scientific evidence or facts. You’ve only spouted conspiracy theories that government is shilling against the economic interests of the polluting petroleum industry.

Even your claim that we are now “energy dependent” is inaccurate. The US is the single biggest oil producing nation in the world. If the petroleum industry didn’t export oil for profit we probably wouldn’t need to import any. Meanwhile every kilowatt of solar panels can decrease our need for petroleum - is that your problem? Is that decreasing your income? Are you scared of Americans being less dependent on fossil fuels?

Whatever your motives, if you really want to be believed try finding a legitimate source rather than one known for right-wing propaganda. Is this where you go for information?

Well said and good fact-checking choice. And op’s source should be called American Anti-thinker

Have a watch of Don’t Look Up, Beatman.
It’s excellent in its own right but also as an analogy for the climate crisis response

if you are against the petroleum industry then you should stop using oil and gas for your cars and other 100 plus products made from oil

This crisis is promoted by enemies of the West to weaken the West

Yeah? I work in the renewables industry. Part of my specialty is setting up solar power systems for charging EVs. I’ve got an EV on order right now. I set up renewable power systems for driving fuel that cost less than gasoline.

Not smug, just living by my beliefs and saving money, and making it in the process.

Most synthetics are bi-products of petroleum, very little crude is harvested specifically for the many other petroleum products. We could cut vehicle consumption to a small percentage of what it is now and still have plenty byproducts for other uses. Additionally there are many new non-petroleum products available that aren’t in common use simply because we have so much petroleum byproduct available.

There are industries which can produce energy without compromising our future while remaining competitive in international markets, but unfortunately we still have a very influential petroleum industry that is producing disinformation in order to keep their gravytrain going.

As I wear shorts in New England in January. Yeah hoax. Idiot
What was the record high and low for your area on that day and how does that reconcile with the average?

Nevermind that I see grossly obese people all the time wearing shorts in cold weather

Nevermind that marine animals wear nothing at all on ice flows with the temp at -40

Maybe you need to lose 200 pounds there thinkness

Sadly I live in the real world so I can't give up on oil overnight. That's not the same as doing everything possible politically to get us off fossil fuels as much as possible (Which in the sense we are MOSTLY talking is 100% possible) as quickly as possible and should be the goal of all people. Well save maybe those who owe their fortunes to oil. 100+ products? Its gotta be tens of thousands unless you are really being broad as to what a "product" actually is not that it affects the actual point.

Since the 70's, we've had global cooling, global warming, and now global climate change.

I've seen zero evidence of the doomsday predictions even remotely coming true.

When the science makes accurate predictions, then I take it seriously.
