Okay, some of us have to turn the cogs for the rest of you lazy Litsters, so I'm out of here...

Music: Depends on your subject....old school punch in the mouth first..rock or metal. Rob Zombie/BLS/Ozzy. Or play The Doors while your writing, it'll set the main atmosphere of the story.
Watch these movies:Easy Rider, Beyond the Law, Running Cool, and TBS did a thing about "Biker Women" professional singers and writers riding to Sturgis.
You want to get out of that old propaganda the cops still are trained in today.
Most riders I know are more like the cowboys of the old days, they're upright, say what they think, and live and die for their families. They have a black/white view of the world, and compromise for PC is not an option.
They're fiercely independent but crave the group dynamics of like individuals to belong to a tribe for survival.

BTW~ It's not limited to Harley or Indian riders, it's all a collective of people who LOVE to ride.

She mentioned "looks dangerous" or something like that...try riding at 70mph 6" from the pavement, dodging cars, bugs, bees, rocks, rednecks, hail, rain, dust, barkdust, birds,deer, plastic bags, cops, troopers, Feds, and any other thing that hurts and you develop an attitude of a survivor.
Ask The Heretic, he does it at over 100mph!

Women call bikes 'pretty' or 'cute' all the time - even though some bikers wince when they do (the smart ones just smile and say 'thanks'). 'Beautiful' and 'nice' are okay. It would be out of character for most women to compliment the bike in the terms bikers do.

Good, good. That's exactly what I was looking for, that "wince". But if she's attractive he'll be smart and let her get away with it ... and she might let him get away with getting down her pants.

I was born and raised in Wyoming. You know, the place where there are still cowboys (not the urban varitey) and working ranches. This metaphor works for me, it allows me understand more the "feel" I'm trying to incorporate into this story.

What exactly are you wanting to know? What type of bike depends on what you are going to use it for. For example, I have a Harley Classic Ultrglide. It is a big road bike. Not good for putting around town in.

American bikes have more of an iconology feel to them than the Japanese bike are more for the younger group.
