I've just returned from a Mother's Day meal in a local restaurant.
We went in the late afternoon to avoid the lunch time rush. The meal was reasonable but the staff were shell-shocked after the crowd at lunch time. Our three-year-old granddaughter behaved well for a three year old, as did the other young children. Apparently the children who came at lunch time had been absolute horrors.
Granddaughter had her first full-length spaghetti. She watched Grandad with his spaghetti before winding her spaghetti carefully on her fork. The eventual mess was less than a normal meal. All she needed afterwards was a wiped chin. Her mother, grandmother and grandad were impressed. Her father and aunt always expect her to perform well.
