Morris Says A Landslide Is On The Way

I think you are way off base. If the Republicans had merely remained silent on social issues we may have President Mitt. If they had actually not engaged in the war on women then Obama would have lost by 3M votes.

Once the GOP breaks the grip of the fundamentalist Christians 'free enterprise, individual freedom, and limited government." is going to work for them again. The things is - they never will!

John Stephanopolis, Democrat operative pretending to be an honest, unbiased member of the press proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Republicans were not going to be allowed to ficus on economic issues over social issues in the Republican debate. The Democrats do not appeal to reason, they appeal to the more powerful nature of feelings. The Republicans will never be allowed to be free of the Christian problem as long as one can be found in their ranks and even though we know Democrats profess loudly their Christianity, they are not "those" types of Christians.

The argument here is that with the Democrats having fully disenfranchised this segment of the population in their ranks, that now the Republicans too should do it, leave them with no representation, and that that is going to win favor with Democrat Culture Warriors, but truly, I do not see this happening, as I pointed out in my opening comments this morning. The Democrat have to have an enemy and Republicans are it, no amount of pandering and window dressing is going to get them off of that hook.

I do not think that Democrats telling Republicans how best to win is being done in a totally honest fashion, I think rather what they are telling them is this is what we fear, so if you jettison it, we will feel better about you for having made the sacrifice of having insufficient number to ever win again, with the additional benefit that we will then easily be able to point to our team the actions of the guilty and now that we know they are guilty by their own admission, then we can sentence them to political irrelevance because they are still the party of all that; they're just lying now to deceive our voters, but we are not about to let that happen. Just ask Candy Crowley or Scott Pelley...

Every unarmed John Galt who opens his mouth about working for himself will disappear in the night.:D

With nary a political outcry and the blessings of the mob.

In America, they first came for the very rich and I didn't speak up because I wasn't rich," said the Rev. Imadem Doinggood. "Then they came for the Bourgeoisie and I didn't speak up because I wasn't Bourgeois. Then they came for the Upper Middle Class blue-collar workers. I didn't speak up because I was a Government clerk. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak up.

Who cares if Democrats did or did not raise the topic of social issues? If Republicans believe something why are they ashamed to talk about it in front of voters?

That is one of the funniest things I've ever read on Lit.

I tip my hat to you. I was laughing so hard I actually spit out my coffee.

AJ thinks the Republican candidate should be the one who decides what the election conversation focuses on. Not a Democrat and certainly not the voters. And if the conversation switches to social issues because a Republican starts running his mouth about rape without any provocation whatsoever, well it's the Democrats' fault.

This is why kbate said those things about you (vis-a-vis knee-jerk posters) and I echoed them.

Condescension, patronization and ridicule are sufficient response for you when you see something you do not agree with for a real rebuttal might leave you open to a conversation and the exposure of the conflicting systems, sophisms and fallacies that have come to represent your personal philosophy.

A_J is a hypocritical, lying moron.

I just think it is hysterical that he describes his posts here as "in his opening statements." Talk about taking yourself too seriously. :D

Everyone knows what went wrong:

Do you know what the Republican Party exists for now? The enabler of your enemy. If you think that the earth is about to die from glow ball warning, the Republicans are with the polluters. Think your wages are too low, jobs are too scarce and benefits too few, the Republicans are with the rich. Marriage on the rocks? Republicans are against gay marriage, therefore, they are anti-family. Are your food and gas prices rising faster than your paycheck? Republicans conspire with Big Food and Big Oil for profiteering, because they are with the rich. Is it the same with Big Pharm! Think the world hates you and your country caused the hate, well, Republicans did that too. Shrinking middle class? Republicans. Poverty on the rise? Republicans. Autistic child? Republicans. Hurricane? Republicans. Nothing on TV?, you guessed it...

It is dying, but it laughs.

Doubtful. The good guys need an enemy and Socialism needs an excuse. As long as they can find one lone Akin, they can isolate ridicule and continue to brand, after all, the press is firmly in their camp in this war where culture and feelings shove aside economics and reason. The Republicans will never be allowed to moderate, but lately that gaggle of metrosexuality has been seriously getting in touch with their feelings and treating reason as an ugly, red-headed stepchild...

They are now busily tattooing and piercing themselves (metaphorically) in order to be considered part of the cool crowd but they are still going to be laughed at as ridiculous in the attempt.

If you believe in something, believe in it dammit or fold up the tent and return to the corn field.

My opening comments.

Contemporary leftists, on the other hand, view their opponents as people you send off to the Gulag, unworthy of any respect, deserving of any kind of low blow, no matter how foul. So you accuse Goldwater of insanity, slander Justice Thomas as a sexual monster, casually publish plays, books, and films calling for the assassination of President Bush, and assault the first serious Republican female candidate at her weakest point -- her family. And of course, you scream to high heaven if any form of turnabout occurs in your direction, as in the case of the Obama family, which was declared "off limits" early in the presidential campaign, at the same time that Palin's family was being stretched on the media rack.

This style of political loathing has become effectively innate. It has been systemized to such a degree as to become integral. Modern liberalism cannot do without it. An entire structure has been erected on the basis of political hatred, and from that structure a whole new strategy has arisen.

Aren't you the one who describes democrats as your enemy?

Aren't you the one who says "the enemy of my enemy is my friend?"

That makes you the hypocrite, sweet pea. ;)

Everyone working for the government save the military loses their right to vote.

Might be a start, but if that doesn’t work then whose next..........

African American’s, Gays, non-Christians, environmentalists, Hispanics, women of child bearing age, any white person under 50.
