It is worth reading the Wiki article on Turnbury. The financial crookery is legendary with vast amounts of money from unknown sources being shovelled in - on paper - then re-distributed to other Trump interests - but only a fraction being spent locally.

The Royal and Ancient are on the record that they would like to hold the open at Turnbury again but specifically not Trump Turnbury. Trump would have a better chance of getting the Masters played at his Florida resort.

Yesterday news broke that Trump tried to abuse his office to enrich himself.
It’s egregious self-dealing but barely amounted to a blip on the news radar.
