James Saunders cast ballots in both Ohio and Florida in the 2020 presidential election lost by Trump and the 2022 midterm election, according to a ruling by Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court judge Andrew Santoli, who ordered sheriff's deputies to take the lawyer straight to jail, reported Cleveland.com.

“It appears [Saunders] felt he was smarter than the system,” said Cuyahoga County prosecutor Michael O’Malley. “He was wrong.”

Saunders, who made multiple donations to Trump and Republican campaign entities, claims he accidentally cast two ballots, but witnesses recall seeing him vote in person Oct. 21, 2020, in Cuyahoga County, while cellphone data shows he drove from his Virginia address on Nov. 1, 2020, and drove to Broward County and cast a ballot two days later on Election Day in Florida.

Cole, a Republican, won 52% of the vote in the House District 10 race in November 2022.

“The Alabama Constitution reserves exclusive jurisdiction to the Alabama House of Representatives over a challenge to the ‘election, returns, and qualifications of its members.’ (‘Each house shall choose its own officers and shall judge of the election, returns, and qualifications of its members.’). Plaintiff/Contestant is not left without a remedy but his remedy lies with the legislative branch, not the judicial branch,” Cole’s attorneys argued in a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

Ten days afterwards, however, Nickelson announced he would challenge the results when the parish’s Board of Election Supervisors denied his request for a hand recount.

“Many, dozens at a minimum, in the small sample of ballots we were able to inspect in the short time we had of these certificates had no signatures at all,” Nickelson said at the time. “In other words, ballots had been submitted without a voter signing it.”

The Board of Election Supervisors claimed time constraints prevented any additional scrutiny of the election ballots cast.

A Louisiana sheriff election in which a candidate win by one vote has been declared void after some votes were found to have been cast twice.



43,000 votes cast.
Decided by one (1) vote
Recount changed the totals a bit, but not the outcome
Further review found 11 invalid votes, 2 of them double votes by the same voter, but 'who' the votes were for is not disclosed in the article.

"In all, Bleich said that two people voted twice, five mail-in ballots should not have been counted for failure to comply with the law, and there were a further four invalid votes by interdicted persons who were unqualified voters."

We don't really know if the discarded votes would have changed the outcome.

A new runoff vote has been ordered.
