How are ya'll doing? Sorry...been neglecting you all, haven't I? :( On the other hand....I found a dealer - a CAR dealer, sillies - that will give me a 35% discount on my MR2 parts :D Anyone know where I can rent a lift and a motor pullie thingie real cheap? *snickergiggles*

*hands on hips* Hey, just cause I'm a girl, doesn't mean I can't weld a mean wrench and change my own parts :p

OH NO!!! something wrong with that lovely car of yours hon??

Good luck with the repairs but, I just bet there's plenty of guys that'd be pleased to fix it for ya???........I know I would, if you could get it here to me!! LOL

Have fun sweetie.

Actually Lunar United rentals is a pretty good place to start. I'd rent it one day and find a place to put it down then return the lift............. so the work and go back and rent it another day to put it back that way you don't have to pay for all the days your working on the motor. :D

*nods* That's a good idea :D I have ramps, but I think I'll need more clearance than that since the car is so low to the ground to begin with. I figure I'll only need three or four days worth, and the lift probably only at the end, most of the work will be done to the engine. And I hear it's pretty easy to get out, just putting it back in and hooking everything back up that takes a little time lol

I'm going to degrease the engine while I have it out, replace all the belts and hoses, replace the clutch and master cyclinder, drain all the fluids and replace them with fresh stuff....want to make sure everything is good on it, since I don't know when the last time the owner did regular maintence like that.

Oh, nothing's wrong with it, I'm just doing the normal used car purchase tune up thing ;) Better to be safe than sorry...and not everyone replaces their belts and fluids when scheduled. I like to get under the hood and do my own work :D

Just be very carefull using H2O around any electrical parts like your Distributor. I know way too many who tried to Degreese their engines only to have to replace a few new parts aftre doing so because the water ruined them.

Of your going to do a tune up do the degreesing first then let it dry out remove the old stuff and let it dry somemore. then put the new on that should be good to keep the chance of water getting to anything that it might hurt. just try to stay clear of those things that need a spart to run :D

Naw honey, that didn't offend me at all. I'm pretty hard to offend, you have to work at it! lol and on sweet Lunars thread it's very unlikely to happen!!

things over here in the heart of "Merrie" England are fine thanx, weather here starting to warm up slowly, portents of spring and all that!

we've had some sunny spells but, for the most part it's cloudy and dreary, that's what makes our sceptered Isle so green though!

LS darlin' hope all ok, sorry I've not been to see you so often lately, trying to decorate whilst John away!
Still think of you a lot though hon!

:p  :p  :rose: x24

Hi there big ~ Hope all is going well with the decorating while John is away. How much more time do you have?

It is rainy and drizzly here right now, but it will be getting warm later. 60F. That is very nice for this time of year in Wisconsin.

Hello Kayte, all going quite well thanks, I go down to Richmond on Thames to collect John in the morning and I have cleared enough of the decorating up to allow him to get in and to have access to his room!! So, he'll be able to read his precious books and sleep, they're the important things to him!

Not been a bad day here in MoE. bright spells with heavy intermittent showers! cold though, 8/9 C.

Have a safe trip!!!

It has cleared up here now, and is sunny. Sorry to hear you are having the chill there.... Let's see C to F in my head.... double it and add 32..... 16+32=48. That is nippy my friend. May not be exact but it gets me in the ballpark....

*nods* Yup :D The distributor is on the replacement list though, one of the quirky problems with that year model...car club folks say the dealership will try this and that first and it's always the distributor that's the problem lol Of course, with that old a model, and only about 8,000 sold in the US and Canada, finding someone who knows how to work on the car is tough...so I'm gonna do it myself, with my list of how tos and what tos from the club along with my BGB - the car manuel ;)
