If you did call, go to experians website and place an alert on your credit report.
I don't normally pass out stuff like this, mainly because it's usually sent in mass emails to all your friends and a quick search of www.snopes.com tells you that it's an urban legend. But I got this straight off Experian's website.

My grandfather has NO debt - he went through the depression and EVERYTHING is paid for, so he's not hurting, but it has me pissed the hell off at whoever is doing it...and I'm gonna track them down and teach them what nonconsentual feels like.
