In the US’s PNW, we have four types of ocean beaches:

1. Rocks all the way out
2. Rocks until the tide is out, then mud
3. Fake sand (mine tailings or the like)
4. Cliffs straight into water

This is a beach from the second category.
It is a twenty minute drive from where I live to this one, but it’s worth it for the low tide walks

Thick and slimy under your toes, letting the world come up and swallow your feet… it’s kinda great. Also the little sea creatures and bugs are fun to watch as they scuttle by.
