Hello! I was originally unsure where to post this, but I was directed here by another member, so I hope that’s all right: I’m looking for a story that I randomly came across here, but can’t seem to find again. It’s a transgender story, and I believe classified under that section even though there are taboo elements in it.
Unfortunately I don’t remember anything about the title, or the character names, but I remember the basic story premise:
The main character was in their early 20s, transitioned male to female, and was basically at the mercy of their uncle who paid for all of their clothes, food, apartment and so on—and he was forcefully (kind of?) sexual with her.
She finally thought she could get away and moved to a private, kind of elitist university in a smaller yet upscale town. She hid herself behind frumpy clothes, with the intent to not cause drama or bring attention to herself. She ends up bullied by other girls anyway for her intelligence and lack of interaction with others.
She meets a boy at the school who she begins to fall for. I remember one scene where they were running track together (I believe through a forest path), and she hurts her ankle due to bullying and being pushed, and the boy helps her out. The uncle eventually shows up again, and insists on her dressing up and taking her to a high class country club to show her off. She ends up seeing the boy she likes there, who is a waiter, and is helped out from being bullied by the same school bullies who are also in attendance.
I believe the two meet up some time after that event, and she reveals that she was born a boy and he runs off. That is how I remember the the chapter ended…
I’ve become invested in the story—it was so well written—and I can’t find it! If anyone recognizes this story, please let me know. And if this isn’t the right place to post this, I’d be more than happy to take it down if you could point me in a better direction.
