Montrealer's Thread!

Details, important? Pfft!

True... but it'll look better with fire drums!

And you're not missing much driving in Montreal... it's a pain!

True...they did look pretty neat.

I know alot of people who don't live driving it the city...it's much easier getting around by metro.

And quicker too. And less frustrating. It can be hectic on the roads...

Yes, which means crossing the bridge...there have been times when it has taken them over 2 hours to get home because of traffic.

From the South Shore?

In any case, I feel their pain - it's not fun to be stuck in traffic...

Yes from the South Shore

They bring their nintendo ds's with them to play in the van. Last week the van broke down (thankfully at the school and not in traffic) and they didn't get home until 5pm...usually they get home about 3:30pm.

So, I'm guessing they cross the Champlain (I know how much a pain that can be!)

Sometimes I wish I can bring a gameboy or something when stuck in traffic, lol... but thankfully, I rarely have to go during rush hour...

Wow... they must have been exhausted when they got home!

No, the Victoria. They go in one of those ecolier vans which is considered a taxi so they are allowed using the bus lane to get onto the brigde (on the south shore side).

My youngest fell asleep in the van so he wasn't that tired.

Okay, the Victoria isn't all that bad... and seeing as the ecolier gets to use the lanes, it's probably quicker...

And your youngest probably kept you up all night, right?

Yeah, and even though the Champlain has the bus lanes the ecolier vans don't get to use them. (Their old driver use to take the Champlain)

No, he went to bed at the regular time. I never have to tell them when it's bedtime they just go to bed on their own.

Wow... can you come over and tell my 'nephews' that? It's a battle to get them to bed on time... mind you, as I'm their Auntie, I do spoil them! :D

Sure I can. My younger sister is always asking me how I do it since it's a battle to get her kids to bed.

Lol... Thanks! You may have a business going...
as I said before, the boys aren't mine - when they come over to visit, or I them, it's a treat for the both of us, so I wind them up before bed...

Well that's always fun

Even when I do let them stay up late to watch a movie or hockey game, it's rare they make it to the end. I tell them that if they're falling asleep then to go to bed cause they are getting too big for me to pick up and carry.

It is, for all of us...

Lol... I guess that's why they go to bed when they need to. They will wake up in the living room! That's smart.
The boys are still quite small (the eldest is only 6, and he's a small 6 year old), so I carry them to bed. Mind you, when they are over, I put mattresses out in the living room and they have a sleep over.

It's the mornings that I don't like... but then again, I do spoil them,

My oldest is going to be 11 in 3 weeks, he's 5 feet tall and weighs about 90 lbs so I can't pick him up anymore. My youngest is 9.5, is 4'6" and weighs about 80 lbs, I can still pick him up but it's not easy when he's sleeping.

3 weeks... wow. Will he have a birthday celebration?

Still, 80lbs is not always easy to pick up!

He'll have at least 2, probably 3 celebrations...one here, one at his father's and maybe one at school.

No, but it's easier when he's awake.

Not too shabby! :D Is he getting anything special?

Actually my sister is taking him to see Beatlemania but he doesn't know yet. He loves the Beatles. He wanted to go last time they were here which was his 9th birthday but I didn't think he was old enough to go or to be staying out that late on a school night.

That'a awesome... oh, he will be absolutely thrilled!! That's great..... I'm sure he will love it!

I'm sure he will too...I'm going with them. My sister was able to get the tickets early through work so we got really good seats. :D

On top of it! Wow... you all will have a blast! And he'll adore you forever, you do know that, right?

I know, but I think he'll adore my sister more since she's the one getting him the ticket for his birthday. Only thing is the concert isn't until March 20th.
